CERBOLAVO

Last weekend I was going to try to make something for week 12 while I was attending PAX East, but only managed to get the bones of a trance track. After seeing Chipzel perform and mostly listening to Eurobeat on the drive from Boston to Philadelphia (for some reason), I wanted to get a bit of a heavier more club-like track than what I started with. I played with it a bunch through this week and eventually formed into this. I'm pretty happy with it, and spent a bunch of time trying to mix it well -- hopefully others think its good too!

I used some stretched and modified samples from Nullsleep's EXTFIELD 001 DPCM Drums sample pack for most of the vocals except for the "yo" and "we've been brainwashed" (215.BANK2-VOX-YES, 217.BANK2-VOX-LAUGH, 226.BANK2-VOX-EMOTIONAL, 227.BANK2-VOX-CONTENT).

Any feedback, mixing or otherwise, is appreciated!

Since this is loosely based around mass media and brainwashing, I called it "CERBOLAVO" which is my closest approximation of the Esperanto word for "Brainwash."

Super awesome club banger. Absolutely loved all the samples and the placement, which really amp up the energy. Crazy awesome rave synth action!!! Is this all FM synth stuff on the m8?!?

Thanks! It is entirely done on the m8, but the deeper synths are all done using the macrosynth and the higher pitched lead synths are all FM.

I don't know about the swoopy thing high up there. I do like the bass though, but don't be afraid to make the drums bigger.

After listening an mixing a ton, I think I ended up muddying up the drums a bit; they definitely could have been bigger. Thanks for the feedback!
