BRILA

After playing with samples a bunch last week, I decided to use them a bit more heavily for Week 41. I found a trumpet sample, then recorded a slightly similar sample using Arturia's Augmented BRASS. I was kind of going for a similar sound to the horns in WAVEDASH's 'Stallions'; but ultimately got something a bit more simple. The "okay," "very good," and kinda lo-fi drum samples came from a zip I got on the Dirtywave discord years ago. I built on the drum samples and created a stronger (less filtered) drum beat using the DW01 Synthdrums pack. All the other samples are from the first five episodes, and final episode, of Yu Yu Hakusho. It feels a bit repetitive like many of my songs, but I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out. Any feedback is appreciated!

The title is an Esperanto word that means brilliant or bright. I was looking for a word that kind of gave the same vibe as the trumpet/horn sounds I was going for, and I think BRILA works pretty well.

Originally I used AI to generate an image of a trumpet in a sort of 90's anime style; but I have very mixed opinions of using AI for art, and don't really want to use it for something I create if I can avoid it. I ended up spending WAY TOO LONG trying to merge a picture of a flower and a trumpet in GIMP, and make a somewhat cartoony version of it. It kinda works, but maybe next time I'll try to draw it myself!

I'm the words of the song, very good.
Like your art as well, worthy of an album.
