After seeing Nullsleep, nmlstyle, Cheap Dinosaurs, and datacats last Sunday I was inspired to make some chiptune this week. I was reminded of my first chiptune track from WB24, BOBENO, and decided to continue that theme. I reworked the track multiple times during the week, and the end result is something I mostly created on Saturday and fine tuned+mixed on Sunday. Most of the sounds are coming from the M8, but I did add a few minor effects in Reaper after rendering the stems. Also, the "Spool!" chants are me, my friends, and my brother, all mixed to try and make some group vocals 😅.

In 2024 all my track names were Esperanto, so to continue the "BOBENO" track name, this could be translated to "SPOOL FOUR."

It was a sick show! Nullsleep was great  but I always love seeing nmlstyl too. And Dino/cheap dinosaurs played a SICK set with some sort of electric clarinet/sax/oboe?? So sick - it has some kinda FM/Genesis type sound and is so cool to see played live.

Thanks! The art took way longer to get right than I expected (even though in the end it's essentially two photos with a transparent gradient to blend them). I love any DMG-styled Spool photo!

The gang chants could have been better, but they were a last min addition where I messaged a ton of people then tried cleaning up what they sent me 😅 Definitely would have liked to have gotten a group of people in a room to really yell the chant lol
