Happiness Assault

By MRDRCAT on May 5, 2024 9:30 pm

Ran out of time this week on the New Thing so I dusted off an old Korg iDS10 project from when I first dabbled with it. I don’t know if I improved it at all, but here it is. I forgot how cool this app is!

That was absolutely head bobbing goodness! I feel properly assaulted with happiness. Great tones all the way around, I really like the character of the kick drum. Gets away from the typical electronic music sound, but still has a pleasing fatness. (I remember the DS10 for Nintendo, but the iDS version totally slipped past me! Nifty.)

I like how different things are doing their own thing while coexisting in this space where together they form something greater than the sum of its parts. The bassline is my favorite part. Really appealing sound design.

Fun track!

It's hard to get a bad sound out of this app. I started with the iDS version and got some okay results, but for some reason I really took to it on iPad. Maybe the bigger screen? The "assault" part of the title was inspired by the utter lack of any kind of softness, modulation, or anything else, plus SO MUCH DELAY

Thanks! My approach of throwing everything at the wall and then attempting to carve out space for each sound might actually work!

Ha ha I'm taking this as high praise! Thank you!! May happiness continue to assault you.

Love the lofi sounds, especially the arpy main lead. Has a joyful feel to it.

Giving me a rephlex vibe definitely.   Well done!
