FLOODEDTEMPLE

By MoGesus on February 26, 2026 3:37 pm

Entirely made with samples from the "video game" Music2000, as usual with the M8.

This is really good!  Reminds me a bit of the OSTs of mid-late 90s CD console RPGs (but maybe that's the vibe of the sample source).

I've only heard about Music2000 discussed like a legend, but never knew it existed back in its day.  Did you ever use it?

Definitely has a bit of PS1 vibe with games like Wild Arms, Alundra, maybe even Grandia? Very cool.

Thank you smile

I've played it when I was a kid yes, I actually began my musical journey with this one and the eJay suite on PC ahah. It's pretty good actually, a little bit odd to control at first with the PSone pad, but you can quickly make some cool stuff with it smile

Sounds huge! Indeed this is perfect RPG music, I'm stoked to go and grind some levels while exploring a temple.
I especially like the low flute like sound that starts at 1:24 and later at 3:16, really nails that videogamey tribal vibe.

Oh god, that brings me back to when I wrote a 20 minute trance song as a kid, because 20 minutes was the maximum song length in eJay :')
Need to try that Music2000 one though, sounds fun!

Ahah yeah, Rave eJay was awesome! I should try to find the samples for a track...

Music 2000 takes me back... I had that, the original Music and MTV Music Generator 2 on the PS2. They were the first daws I ever used!

The samples have a nice crunch to them that really makes this this like an authentic piece from the 00s PSX, it's defo giving 'fan translated JRPG'. Awesome.

Some serious 32 bit vibes coming through this one.

chill little vibe
