Discovering your Fate, and the Fate of the Universe

So this was inspired by RPGs of yore, specifically Motoi Sakuraba, with classic OSTs like Star Ocean: the second story, Valkyrie Profile, and Golden Sun. I've always loved this more mysterious vibe, and the music box sound in general, which he tends to abuse to great effect. Mostly samples this week, as I don't know that I could replicate these sounds to my satisfaction with synth, and I didn't have much free time to try (though I did end up making a pretty nice oboe/clarinet synth patch). To make it a "beat", I decided to add drums to the second rep, then "bass" for the final section, which I really liked the end result of. smile

This is excellent!  Nailed the RPG OST feeling.   Also, I dig the fuzziness towards the end.

Nice!

Very cool. Gives me old-school game feels smile

heart Thanks all!

Really nice work w/ the winds in this. The SNES-era music vibes in this are outstanding. Love it.

sounds great Modal! huge fan of the SNES jrpg vibe so this is so lovely to hear, great drum groove also!

What a lovely melody and mood.
The drums/bass are perhaps a bit too busy to my taste… but still, great job! smile

That melody is wonderful. smile

ya, the idea was something suddenly intense happens, like the mysterious dialogue scene becomes a battle, or something... haha

That toybox, it's just so good. And the rest comes along and really makes it complete.
