Hydra Encounters

In which a Hydrasynth narrates its perspective on matters yet to be known.

I borrowed a Hydrasynth Explorer from License and played with it a few times. I'm giving it back this week before it takes me too far into the abyss. I figured I should make a track with the recordings before I do. Hydra and I had a little fun in our time together, but really we're just getting to know each other. Hydra is quite deep and full of hidden mysteries. The track ended up being a collage of sorts. Chapters in a story being written. All sounds in the story are from Hyrdra, except some drums.

It's been fun hearing everyone's tracks these past few weeks. Its a mix I wouldn't normally hear and it's kind of mind blowing. Definitely mind expanding. Thanks for the creativity and generosity WB fam!

I'm not familiar with the Hydrasynth, but those are some awesome sounds you're getting from it.  I'm imagining it requiring multiple tentacled arms to operate.  The collage aspect of this track works to hint at the various mysteries out there to explore.

I do always love how WB exposes me to sounds and genres I'd never seek out on my own.  Stretches the old mental envelope for sure.

I loooooved this!! Really great sounds, eerie and calming. Would love to get my hands on a Hydrasynth Explorer someday!

Excellent journey in sound with the hydrasynth.  I like the changes in the track too.  It feels like I'm descending deeper and deeper into the dark depths of the ocean.

delectable sound-designz! i also really love the structuring, it gets more and more interesting throughout but not by a way of constant buildup over the same idea, more by way of intertwining different ideas, like catching different hydras in your net heart

This is a bunch of weird fishes. Respect.

really cool journey, thank you

Trippy! In more ways than one, love the different ambiances and the way the drums hit. The visual support made things even more trippy!

Awesome video, fits well with the sounds emanating from the depths of the hydra synth, really like those drums that come in at 1:30 and that little plucky string sound (reminds me of an old public enemy song, can't think of the name of it).  Hydrasynth looks like lots of fun, fellow WB contributor gurtej has one, he uses it quite often and loves it.

Getting some Boards of Canada vibes on this track. The glitchy percussion and gritty layering tells such a great story. Nice work!

another killer track from miraclemiles. always very engaging. lots of cool tasty stuff happening in here.

This Hydra sounds like a wonderful toy - rich in textures, sounds very organic. And this meshes very well with your percussion work.

it's the imperfections for me, so organic and keeps my ear engaged. favorited

The textures on display here are awesome and, between the images in the video and emily's gif, it definitely captures a vibe of the deep sea and all it's spookiness.

i went down the hydrasynth explorer path and i'm glad that i did! i've had it 6 months now and have barely even scratched the surface of what it can do. i really dig this track, i hope you can keep on exploring!

you went to some cool zones with the thing! so much variety in here. the melodic parts are like an encounter with an intense magical being that seems angry at first, but is grinning and peaceful.

I hear some PO12 clap too! love it!
