Finding It

By miraclemiles on February 11, 2024 9:49 pm

Started out with a little "therapy jam." This is what I'm calling making music when not feeling so great, with the hopes of feeling better. Most of the time a nice music session can turn that frown upside down, and it worked for me this week.  I'm grateful for the therapy jam. smile
F minor handpan and cajon are the base of this. Handpan improvising first, then playing cajon along with that. Then did what I could to add more sounds, arrange a little to make it fun.
I've been really into quarter not triplets lately, some 3 over 2 vibes, more songs to come with those riddims.

I asked my wife to help with title. She listened and said she thought about running through the woods, and then finding whatever it is we sought. Looking forward to hearing WB music this week, and I hope you all can find whatever it is you may need to find.

Beautiful scenery you take us through. Great groove and mystical journey! Thank you for that nice track this week.

love these swirling distorted resonances so complimentary to the rolling rhythms heart

i agree with Raja it's got some excellent rolling rhythms especially in the bassiness of the cajon.  Lots of sun beam shining thru lush forest vibes.  Nice work!

Seems like we're always looking.  It's nice to find it sometimes.  I think you definitely found it this week.  Lots of cool percussion and something both soothing and magical to the vibe here.  Significantly less gonzo crazy than some of your tracks, but a really nice sonic journey in its own right.

that was lovely. peaceful calming vibe with lots of interesting stuff going on. nice polyrhythms. the occasional distortion on some percussion parts is a nice touch, adds just a bit of an edge. love the guitar too.

This track is really something special. Some magic is going on for sure. I like the greetings of the guitar here and there.

super evocative, appreciate your work with the percussion in particular, the groove starting in the last third really takes off

Great percussion. Really love the cajon!

yes, i really love how this slowly picks up steam and then comes together in the middle section (s). the ebb & flow feels like the pace of life. like oh hey, here i am kinda floating along all these things are happening on the periphery, then all of a sudden things come into focus and we are actually living. thank you

I dig the boomy thuds, is that the cajon? yeah definitely woodsy vibes with the 3 over 2 stuff going on and the spooky melodic stuff at the tippy top.

I like the idea of a therapy jam, I need to reminds myself sometimes that tunes are for fun and stress relief and not a part time job for me.

Thank you! Glad you thought those elements complimented each other, sometimes I wonder if it just sounds good in my weird head, which is fine, lol.

Yes! always looking. I like the idea of just deciding its found, whatever it is, even if the quest for the next "it" goes on. Glad you liked the song journey, thanks or the nice comment.

That's a great observation, thank you for this comment! So true, it seems like life is that mix of kind of floating along, then snapping into gear moving forward. Hmm, this has me thinking, I like it!

Yeah boomy cajon. I did track that's just cajon bass hits. Woodsy vibes, I like that. Maybe I'm eager to go to the woods soon. Cool you got a little spooky vibe. Yeah I have to remind myself to make sure and just have fun too, good shout. At least it should be a fun part time job! Thanks for commenting!

I find this good, very relaxing.

Thanks for the comment Raioh! I'm glad you find it relaxing. I want to make relaxing music since I like to relax to music, but sometimes my inner wild person makes the songs less than relaxing. Someday it will all come together and make sense smile
