distant hopes

Hope for today, hope for the future. I try at least. I stayed in the same space as last week since that was feeling right still. I'm feeling like this a good space for me. Took another previous recording of the tongue drum and built around that. I like to keep adding and adding, which makes mixing hard. Scaled back a little, getting closer to finding it. Now my ears are a little fried. We'll see what I think in day or two going back to listen. Enjoyed this though, and that's what I needed.

I think you have reached the finding. The groove is fantastic with that Latin flavor. The synths fit perfectly. Great arrangement and a killermix.

this sounds so good! and just feels really nice to listen to.
HOPEFULL  heart

Still has a liquified/watery feel to it, but also feels very danceable.  Cool percussive elements as always.  I especially liked when the barrage of drums kicked in around 1:50.

"Enjoyed this though, and that's what I needed." - isn't that the whole point? smile
Wow when the track opens at 0:40, it's like stepping out into a full samba in Brazil. The groove is strong. The revert clash is a super interesting element. That tongue drum is such a perfect instrument to mix rhythm and melody. It was great listening to that track on a Friday afternoon, welcoming the week-end!

So good!!!

Love the fill at the :34 mark.  Gave me some Jan Hammer Miami Vice vibes.  +1 on the tongue drum grooves.  The groove from beginning to end is super catchy and had me swaying side to side like I should be wearing a big feathery outfit with a hat smile  awesome work!

Glad you get that liquid feel carrying through. A bit of a theme. Glad yo liked the drum barrage too, one of my fave parts. Thanks for comment!

YESSS, that is the point! Nice you thought samba in Brazil. I have always wanted to go, but maybe I can capture some grooves on my own. I went extra on that reverse crash riser. Yeah that combo of rhythm and melody is why I love the tongue drum / hand pan. Something I can actually play that has some melody potential. Glad this groove got you moving into the weekend, that's a goal of it! Thanks for the comment!

Oooh, Jan Hammer Miami Vice - that's awesome! I loved that as a kid, classic. Love that you hear that! Grooving in the feathers and hat sounds like a plan, let's go!
