Delicate Causeways

By miraclemiles on March 3, 2024 11:22 pm

This was quick jam on the tongue drum and e-drums. Goal was bring that into Live and make it more interesting. Had fun doing that. Also wanted to play with video. Recorded the jams. Failed to sync it correctly, oh well. Brought into Cap Cut, added some images I took and had more fun with FX. Too much fun? Too woozy and weird? Maybe, but I myself like some weirdness in the visual and auditory department, and this was fun experiment and learning.
I wrote down some thoughts about music making on paper this week, like most weeks. I wanted to share them here, but right now after just finishing this, I need to go walk the dog in some melting snow, delicately across the causeways.

Nah, not too weird.  I, too, enjoy some weirdness and I think this is a very good level of weird and would be enjoyable even for people with a lower weird tolerance.  The video is really cool, too.  I like how you've superimposed images on top of each other.

woow, this sounds really great. really organic and lively sounding. there's a lot going on but it all results in a really nice texture. very cool

Video works fine, those drums works fine too!

Nice experiment with the video (and audio)

The lack of sync doesn't matter. There's enough happening that it just sounds more organic that way. The reverberation of everything is very pleasant. I like the slowdown at the end, it's not super common to do this in tracks on Weekly Beats so I appreciate that!

Excellent groove throughout.  The tongue drum sounds like it's a fun therapeutic play especially when it gets run thru all the fx.  The changeup at the 2min mark is extra nice.  The cymbal splashes are a nice touch too as everything slows down.

I adore your ability to connect so magnificent to a rhythm and building a nice groove. fine videoart too.

The fuzziness of this is great and love how it clears up midway and then seeps back in.  Great groove going with the tongue drum, love the sound of that.  Video reminded me of old Ninja Tune videos and the visuals from a Coldcut show I once attended.

love the tongue drum & very much enjoyed this, thank you

the tone you achieve in all the drums carries through with beautiful sparkle, really accentuates the uplifting feel of the track nicely heart

Really nice jam, feels like floating on clouds of sound. Really like the subtle bass/kick pattern underneath.

your tongue drum chops are getting really good! love the ending. video is maybe a little woozy, yeah, would be cool to see more straight ahead video with cuts, but that's just my taste. do your thing!
