Beguiled Craft

By miraclemiles on June 2, 2024 11:54 pm

Songs emerge from the void. The joy of purposelessness. No plan, no goal, no expectations. Just cruising in the treecraft.

There's a creaky treecraft. Yeah, a repurposed tree. Trees can make great crafts, but it's a complicated process. The fungal to sap ratio has to be just right. To fill the void, someone puts on a little bop they beamed in from the nearby market port. There's some street bands there whose jams stream out a good couple parsecs. Good tech. The crew is talking a bit, planning dinner. There's distant singing from the aft bulkhead. Look out the window now: the void is more colorful with music. There are space whales out there too. The stream cuts out. Just the void and neural remnants remain.

Beautiful backstory for this track. It took me to a beautiful parallel universe, and was the perfect intro for this track. The electronic elements belong to space but the more organic/sliding bars are perfect for the setting you wrote about. And maybe these sliding synths are actually space whales singing (yes you can hear sound in space in that parallel universe as space whales do not sing through air, they use gravitational waves). I loved the groove and general vibe of this track. That was a trip!

I really love the opening on this track, very organic.  The drums just kind of rise up and pull you in.  I like the mix a lot, there a lot going on by the 2:00 mark, but everything still has a pretty well defined place on the sound-stage, even with all the psychedelic effects it doesn't feel like anything is being masked... well done ~( °٢° )~

Love the groovy drums especially the sound of the snare.  The bassy synth sits so nicely in the mix too.  Excellent pace and love how the drums drive this track forward.  Trippy outro too, like I'm floating away.

You are in your dubby element. This is masterclass of psychedelic freestyle. Bravo.

Really like the description on this.  Between that and the picture, it really sets the scene nicely, and the music totally delivers on it.  Some of the best stuff emerges when you go in without any ideas and just make some sounds.

agree with everyone, nice backstory that fits the mood perfectly (or vice versa, heh). The mix sounds is really dense but everything comes nicely together. The sparse vocal touches are great.

that beat change up around the 1 min mark sent me!
