The Precise Cuts of Persian Poets
By Minnamari on November 14, 2024 9:30 pm
This instrumental song is based on a melody I wrote on the piano a few years back, that I named "Song for Persian Poets" because it was inspired by a book of Persian poetry that my Persian friend gave me. (The book was "Faces of Love", with poetry by Hafez and other poets of Shiraz).
I wanted to add some more layers to the simple piano melody and make it more dynamic and airy, but I'm still not sure if it's all the way there. It's a tricky balancing act trying to make something both layered/dynamic and airy. I left the rhythm "mechanical" the way the software automatically makes it, as a tribute to my Persian friend who is very proper and precise. And as a tribute to the poetry, that cuts straight through, but also has the feel of sparkling magical dust sprinkled over it..can you hear it?
P.S. This week I've released"Aave Meduusa", an album that collects some of the Finnish songs I've published here on WeeklyBeats. If you want, you can grab it for free using one of the codes below (just write what code you used in the comments).
