life goes on

I received hundreds of cassette tapes that my brother was about to throw away. They document the entire musical biography of our youth. These tapes shaped my musical education as a child — mainly rock and pop from the 1960s to the 1980s — and they hold an incredibly high personal value for me.
I randomly selected some of the cassettes and spontaneously sampled a few loops and fragments. From these, I create simple beats and jam along with guitar and effect pedals. I’m grateful that these recordings survived and can now live on through my treatment of them. Especially the lo-fi quality of some fifty-year-old recordings is deeply inspiring. The mastering of this track was done on a TASCAM DA20 DAT-recorder.
