ZSJ5- The Names (Abolish ICE)

By Maritalstreep on January 31, 2026 2:46 am

This week I intended to write lyrics for my happy new wave “boy at the mall” song…..

But Alex Pretti happened. So instead I wrote an angry jungle/drum and bass jam, because I was raised on Fugazi and The Clash and I believe in using your voice against injustice.

But I’m also someone who fucked up the half time parts of the recording and shortened my song by accident. The ending is also abrupt and I wish I’d lengthened it a bit and faded out, but these are all lessons we learn.

bless u sincerely
& keep on using your wonderful voice.

Thank you, that means a lot.

Oh yes. Fantastic lyrics, “know the names of your neighbors.” We need unity. I love that you made this song, and hate that we need it so much now.

the current state of affairs is an absolute  tragedy.

This is amazing that you can put such emotions into music and show that dark place we all feel. Fuck ICE man, remember the names of the dead✊️

Thank you everyone for your kind words! It's scary to put yourself out there but better when you have friends with integrity.

Every lesson learned speaking truth is worth double its price.

Hard hitting and I love that you've written about this. We've all I think spent the last month in a particularly intense state of horror watching everything happening.
