there is nothing for you here

so, this is a song i'd already written and released in a way, but a few months back i burned my hard drive out and lost all of the project files, so for the album i want to write, i need to recreate them all completely from scratch. feel like it's a ship of theseus situation and this is allowed.
this is a new demo version of the first maisie marra song i ever wrote, it's called there is nothing for you here and it's about how love feels in small inescapable towns.
i did this in one day, because with everything going on i forgot about weekly beats to be honest. i think the vocal take is mid, and some of the mixing is off and there are so many little details i'd like to add, but it almost feels like i have my song back, and that's nice
i'm safe and staying with friends out in the middle of the west coast for a while until i can get somewhere permanent, so i'm stable for a minute
shout of my friends dad too who left a guitar here for me to use; it's some squire telecaster thing with humbucker pickups and i thought it sounded cool on this track (all the guitars were recorded with it)
lyrics:
back of an old cavalier
jesus hanging on the rear view mirror
you don't know if it's love but
you told me that don't mean so much
our house is half torn down
living in some coastal town
crying on the kitchen floor
with no one else around no more
"baby you'll be happy
if you toughen up"
and maybe we won't have so much
but baby you will have enough
stumble down the street
feel me up at the bar
kiss goodnight from a cop car
small town con runway star
trying to forgive
dying to forget
but I'm gunna do something
we both know I'll regret
