Crack music vigour

Still on a slight M8 & chiptune buzz, this week's beat was all made only with Wavsynth instruments, something I've struggled to make work since getting the M8 last year. I'm still not sure if I can make most of these sounds work with my usual sample-focused work, but I do feel like I understand their character a tiny bit more now. From the start I kinda made the instruments slightly out of tune with each other & I'm not sure why I did this hahaha. Call it a composer's bad sense of humour.
Anyway, I was trying to figure out what this song reminded me of - and of course it's the inspired pirate software crack tunes that we all know and love (ahem).
This was composed/mixed on the M8, with some light compression and a subliminal level of Bitspeek applied in Ableton.

Love wavsynth, I've been on the same kick - great job

ohhhh that slowdown then speedbackup was so satisfying, all choice sounds, too, brilliant work! heart

Micro tune yes thank you very much

Great atmosphere with the slow-moving blocks of detuned chiptones.  It feels exhilarating when everything clears up at 01:03 to let the octave arps to sing through for a moment before heading back in.

wavesynth ga―I mean, same here!  I've also been addicted to wavsynth over the last few weeks, but a lot of it lives by its own laws of musical physics and doesn't blend well with other elements.  I guess we'll have to start making hybrid chiptune.  tongue

The detuning totally works. The whole tune works! Really love it.
