A Tail of Rodent Royalty

By sad_infamy_sings on May 22, 2022 9:15 pm

It has been uncovered that the young rat ward, Twinkie, is in fact the long lost princess of a forgotten kingdom. She will henceforth bear the title of Princess Twinkie of Fairy Rat Haven. She has accepted the new name with grace and has adjusted her behavior accordingly. Where upon one occasion she may have wielded her teeth like a deadly saber against the frightening giants, she now understands their role as her protective servants and will calmly accept from them pets and scritches, as well as allow them to transport her via carriage or even in the palms of their monstrous but gentle hands. A celebration in honor of her newfound riches will be held this evening in the mess hall.

Elegant and totally adorable

Sounds great -- what do you use for recording? I'm also really partial to the noise in this -- are you doing multiple takes & leaving all noise in? (I feel unable to do most things that don't have an undo button of some sort: every time I get a haircut and watch folks make decision after decision, each unable to be undone, it stresses me out...)

I've just been recording on my ipad using garage band- sometimes when I'm not lazy, I'll put in my bluetooth headphones so my old tracks won't bleed into my new ones when I layer, but they're not always charged and I AM a lazybones, so... There are some weeks when I don't listen to my track in headphones and then I upload it and I'm like HM... SOUNDS BAD... ah well... I'm not much of a perfectionist when it comes to music, I guess that's just how I am as a musician- but I always like to just have the music exist in the space it's made, flaws and all, and if I go and rehearse it a bunch over time and get good at it, then that's cool, but when it's like this challenge and I'm making a whole new song each week, I obviously don't have time for that kind of practice and just accept whatever strokes land on the page. Idk, maybe it's because I'm a gouache painter, so I'm used to dealing with a pretty unforgiving medium
