Reimagine Me

By lhrin on January 17, 2024 9:29 pm

Sometimes the unexpected happens big enough in life to help change the way you see everything. I'm retirement age now and I didn't think my life's trajectory held potential for that to happen to me. But it did so this is a song to capture it.

Re-imagine Me Lyrics:

Verse 1
I saw purple clouds in the dying light
You saw silver wings in the coming night
Most times we can both agree
Sometimes we see things differently
[Verse 2
I heard spoken words of puzzle and doubt
You heard a simple quest to figure it out
The truth can be so mysterious
And we can both be so curious

Verse
I feel dubious if I look too far
You feel as positive as the northern star
And when you tell me what you see
I can start to re-imagine me

Chorus
My angst released it’s power and voice
Now I see I have a choice
I can choose to be set free
It’s time to re-imagine me

Verse
I see a child with eye opened wide
You see a sea scape sculpted by the tide
It doesn’t matter, forest or trees
We can run with the wind or slow with the breeze

Verse
I hear chimes tinkle from far away
You hear the orchestra begin to play
We can both hear the symphony
While we live in our comedy

Verse
I feel we’ve almost finished with the climb
You feel we’ve been on top all this time
And when I see the scenery
I know it’s time to re-imagine me

Chorus
My angst released it’s power and voice
Now I see I have a choice
I can choose to be set free
It’s time to re-imagine me

Outro
Now I really do believe
It’s time to re-imagine me

Wow, I love this song! And I can relate so much! I like the little chromatic walk down in the verse melody, and the change in the chorus melody at the end. Great job!

Lovely song and lyrics! I really like the chord changes and your voice works perfectly with the tune!

I now know where to go for a nice 'feel good' song. Hard not to swing back and forth when listening! smile Great chord structures too! Nice job. Keep 'em coming!

I LOVE this! I like the way the melody and progression make it seem like the verse goes into the next verse and the chorus goes into the next part etc.. without a resolution until the end of the song, like a continuous rolling change... Very apt for the message!

The recording is crisp, the singing and guitar playing is spot on, it's original and heartfelt... This is so wonderful, thanks so much for sharing!

I gotta say it's a message I can resonate with as well, and at any age. Especially great to hear it coming from someone with a lot of life experience. It's good to let yourself be surprised and be open to change. Really appreciate this song!

This is definitely my favorite one so far. The chord progression and the the melodic motif you use when singing is a great hook, great vocal dynamics as well.

Quite simply....... You are my hero! thank you!

So good, so good! The changes, the melodies.

Favorited!

Life has a way of throwing curve balls like that. Great performance.
