Foxhole Friends

By lhrin on January 12, 2024 11:44 pm

Foxhole Friends are friends that have been through everything, good and bad together and can still be intimate with thoughts and feelings. I am glad to have some of them.

Lyrics:
I was shopping at the Walmart
Looking for the right part
Not exactly sure where to start

I felt someone there behind me
I had to turn around to see
Not exactly sure what to think

You had a smile on your face
You kinda lit up the place
I felt my heart beginning to race

I forgotten what I’d come for
We headed for the front door
My life had changed before I could blink

Chorus

I don’t know where the time has gone
I know it went too fast
We’ve been to the moon and back again
That’s why we’re Fox Hole Friends

Verse 2

We found a truck and hit the road
Driving hours untold
We’ve driven to the top of the world

Whether sushi on the Jersey shore or kites out our back door
Our life together never gets old

And when my money ran out you left me no doubt
I wouldn’t be standing alone

And when the doctor had some bad news
We made some changes quick and smooth
We’re stronger than we were before

Chorus:
I don’t know where the time has gone
I know it went too fast
We’ve been to the moon and back again
That’s why we’re Fox Hole Friends

I don’t know where the time has gone
But I know it’s been a blast
We’ll be together till the end
That’s why we’re Fox Hole Friends

Wow, you were busy with the lyric-writing this time, weren't you? I like that the chorus goes in an unexpected melodic direction. Or, unexpected to me at least.

I like your modification of the final chorus lyrics. Double chorus impact, with lyrics that wrap the song up. Keep it up!

Very heartfelt. How refreshing! Not where I thought you were headed (verbally) with a person in Walmart. smile Beautiful song yet again. I agree with the original post in that the double chorus changing does wrap up the song nicely. Looking forward to more!

Nice and simple. I like the lyrics. smile

i really enjoyed this and felt engaged with the story and the music throughout. nicely done

I really liked the story you told with the lyrics, you were able to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time and kept it interesting and enjoyable throughout

This is pretty, especially the chorus. So sweet.
