Big City Girl to a Small Town

I grew up in a big city. In the 60's we did ride our bikes everywhere. It feels too risky for kids to do that now but it was a great part of growing up. I loved the state I lived in but as it became much more populated the big city life started to lose it's appeal. It was time for me to make new memories and a small town felt right. There are many tradeoffs and I think you mostly just need to enjoy where you are now.

Verse
Big town kid in a middle class hood
Riding my bike everywhere I could
The zoo, the mall and munici-pool
Wearing cool shoes and clothes to school
The big city life there’s always stuff to do
Cruzin’ main and big concert venues
Verse
Shopping for groceries late at night
To outmaneuver the red traffic lights
Planning time off to ease my stress
Getting far, far away is always the best
Fast pace life starts to wears me down
Time to move to a small town
To a small town
Verse
Small town girl has wide open views
Front porch coffee for gossip and news
My small-town venue is my own back yard
Easing my stress is not very hard
My small-town clothes are always for play
I always know what the neighbors will say
Verse
Ride my bike to country food store
Even the stop sign just says Whoa
My grocery list made for twice a month run
It’s an overnight stay for the big city fun
I never get bored of the small-town choice
I don’t miss the traffic or the big city noise
It’s my small town
