He’s back, baby. 😉

This battle theme for the Moon Dude draws chiefly from "moon dude" and "moon mine" from WB 2024:
moon dude
moon mine

To be honest, I wasn't really planning to revisit 2024 material so much this year. But this is a project I'd like to see through to some kind of finish this time, and a lot of themes from last year are integral to the world of the project. So, there we are. But original ideas are brewing too!

Anyways, Happy Week 6 everybody, and Happy February!

Happy week 6 to you! love the little horn, and love how it keeps getting bigger!

dig that high part slightly detuned, sax +++, the leads at 1:33 great layers. sweet extended bridge. Certified banger

such a good melody and love the lead synth sound! go moon dude!

Moon Dude! Let's go! I love the composition, feels floaty and technologic which seems appropriate. The sax definitely is a highlight too.

I've actually been on the same wave length in wanting to revisit older tunes. I feel like I've been in this rush to always write new music when I could just tidy up and put some older tunes out into the world that deserve the spotlight.

nobody owns the moon!!!

MOON DUDE heart

"Cannot truly be killed - but can be agitated."
so good!

Luv that sax! Sounds like I need to check out the rest of the moon dude arc..

That track is a journey. I like the different layers! There is a that synth in the back that sounds like a robot - it's my highlight for this track. I enjoyed it!

This is magic.

I love the way you've made a back story and a sequence of tracks.

Love how the horn develops over the track.

The sax part is giving me shirtless guy with a mullet vibes, sexy sax man forever! Love it!

Great-sounding track—it feels like a victorious bgm in a SRW game.

(Salamancers ftw)

“In the name ‘eh, okay’ I’ll, like, chastise you or somethin’ i dunno dude heh.”
- Moondude probably

These drums definitely give the combat some good energy.
- Leega

Had Moondude ridden the mighty moon worm?

Hell yeah, good to see the moon dude make another appearance.  The sax is sick in this.  Love the detuned arpy thing in the back too.

I love the stereo thing the drums are doing and the chord progression is my happy place. The main theme is super catchy, and ooooo tubular bells!

Yeah, I hear you there. My take is that these new tracks aren't intended to replace the old ones, but I want to see what kinds of new things I can do with the old material. (That way it keeps things interesting and line with the rules for WB.) So it kind of evens out in the end, since throwback tracks wind up taking as much fresh work as totally fresh compositions anyway. Sometimes even longer if you're nervous about doing the original justice.

You've got an awesome catalogue of submissions though, so it'd be neat to hear what you do with an old tune sometime! big_smile

Thanks for the warm welcome back to an old friend! big_smile And for the kind words on the story blurbs. I've been having a lot of fun with that this year!

Thanks! The saga itself's being rebooted, but if you do check out the tracks that inspired the project, I hope you like them! big_smile

Haha, I can totally see that! Moon Dude's always wearing that space suit though, so not sure anyone's ever seen his face. Maybe he's just shy about the mullet. big_smile

Thank you! SRW for Super Robot Wars? Sounds like I'll have check that out!

Relieved to hear it - I want to write battle themes with distinct character this year, and I was worried this one might get a bit too chill. Anyway, thank you!

Perhaps by the next worm moon! big_smile

Thanks, from both me and Moon Dude!

I do like me some tubular bell. big_smile Thanks MRDRCAT!

I love the song but the fact that moondude has a dance is kinda the best part for me lol. This is really fun and playful and I love how those rhythmic atonal little synth arps create so much groove, great track!

Love that horn, great melodies!

"Dual wields two halves of a flagpole he cut in half long ago because “nobody owns the moon.” - this is so goddamn cool haha. For some reason I'm picturing Captain Falcon's personality for moondude. Love how this is epic and intense but also so fun!

Mood dude seems very cool. Chill, but fighting the good fight. That's a good dude. I love that he fights for the "eh, okay." smile
yeah, nobody owns the moon. Great melody. I like getting to know moon dude.
