Failing Upwards

All Synthesis except Hihats and Vocal Sample.

Started out with the main part that I think is kinda solid, inspired by this Bundle by ilzxc:

...and the original drop hidden in the margins, partially reworked and partially left over from the original:

There's some serious, mindbending complextro arrangement going on that I wanted to try and channel.

But having set expectations for the final result made finishing this pretty strenuous. Felt reluctant to just throw  ideas at the wall to see what would stick but wasn't really happy with what I was coming up with either, so on Sunday this arrived at a point where there was just no time left. So I had to just dress my ugly little duckling and send it out into the world. Here's to finding a more fun process next week!

Still, it wasn't all for naught, because it never is: As mentioned, I kinda like the central core, so I might just give it another shot one of these days. Also, I'm happy with how drum synthesis came out, I used the Reverb Freeze plus room size modulation to make a riser which worked out pretty great, and I found beauty in the Delay and Reverb settings from the Bundle (courtesy of either laamaa or ilzxc). Learning from the greats is always gonna be failing upwards, right?

Sweet track, this could almost be glitch _pop_! The beat, synths, drums, etc. are awesome!

Glitch Pop - I like it! Thanks. smile

Cool song, gives some really joyful vibes! Interesting to hear your process. I agree that sometimes the limitation pushes you to just accept what it is and get it done, in whatever form it is right now. Which can be good sometimes. And you can always work on it some more later. It's an iterative process. smile

Love the beat! Also when the Melody cicks in at 1:18, soo good smile

I'm kinda vibing to this.

Appreciate it! It's so valuable that WeeklyBeats just pushes you over some kind of finish line every week!
