Enjoyable Mess

This week it's chaos. All M8 Synthesis, no samples (minus some resampling)!
My initial idea was coming up with this nice decelerating pluck sound. I consciously wanted to be very deliberate about the sound palette for this, so I spent a lot of time experimenting with and curating percussion patches and patterns. I was really inspired by the music on WeeklyBeats contributor KAMI Lime. As time ran short I needed to figure out how to progress the musical content of that synth pluck loop, so I went for wavetable basses again inspired by last week. And here we are! I learned that being deliberate takes a lot of time and experimenting, but gladly my "getting stuff finished" muscle is pretty fit at this point of the year. I don't think I ever had this much unused material in a project file, just because I was trying to be diligent about what feeling I was aiming for. So this is actually a bit of a point of pride for me! Even though I'm not 100% sure I succeeded in capturing that vibe.
