A journey through the 3.5th dimension. Mathmatical.
- Devieus

I love the rhythm of the main arp (you know, the eternal one, hehe) and how it takes the place of the drums. The way it fills out the low end helps sell the concept. I also love the parts where the arp switches up the rhythm, like a drum fill. You could probably go bananas with that idea in the future if you wanted to, moving into polyrhythms and stuff, but what you have here works.

I'm not sure if you made this on eurorack, but the mixing and mastering is really strong. Everything fits together well and nothing is too loud or clipping. I like how the strings are panned off to the sides. Finally, I also like the length-- it's just the right amount of time for what you're trying to convey, without overstaying its welcome.

Binary title translated: eternalarp

Sounds accurate.

Thanks for the commentary, nice to see you figured out my little easter egg, hehe. This was improvised with a Digitakt sequencing VSTi synths. Mixing was also not that difficult since the elements fit well together, only an EQ, a tape sim and a limiter in the master. Glad you liked it! smile

Yeah! Stick around for more random puzzles, lol, and thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it.

Binary ftw.  I've used binary for mathmetal before.  Fun stuff!

eternalarp, eh? For week 25 I also made a track based on an ever-repeating but ever-evolving sequence! But mine went somewhere entirely different. Yours has a kind of Boards of Canada feel that I really enjoy. The tune is firmly ambient despite the motion, because while the elements are relatively stable, there is plenty of subtle change to make it interesting across the entirety of the duration. Love, the breakdown at the end. Nicely nostalgic.
