Something a bit more pleasant this week.

My brother surprised me by taking me to see Heilung earlier in the week and I assumed that performance/ritual would have informed this weeks track. But I seemed to take a left turn somewhere along the way and simply left the planet.  When I realised I was droning in space I tried to tip my hat to Jerry Goldsmith's score for Alien by adding a little flute...which become the glitchy sound...so you can guess how well that worked out.

If Heilung pass through your town it really is worth going to see them.

Made in Ableton

yes plz heart

love Jerry Goldsmith and love the sound of the drone from the start! Really cool feel from the glitchy sound too.  Also thanks for the recommend, just checked out "Anoana" from Heilung.

That flute turned glitchy squeak + that drone remind me of the Solaris soundtrack by Cliff Martinez. Nice work.

This is such a complete, fully realized moment start to finish, I listened to it a few times while doing other things and eventually it just sank into the background of my subconscious like it was part of the environment and totally changed the space ... of my bedroom ... it's awesome. Those modulated high synth / transmission notes really punctuate the ambient drone in such a narrative way. And the spoken word at the start just sets the stage - all we need for the story. Really great.

big fan of those tasty glitches that punctuate the ambient drones. super cool soundscape!

Lush, textured, amazing. Love all the little elements that are going on in here. The glitchy flute is PERFECT against the drone, and the voice at the beginning set the mood so well. So good.

Thank you, I'm also a huge Goldsmith fan, ever since I watched First Blood as a kid.  Anoana is a great song of theirs for sure.  If you've the time and inclination they've got 2 professionally filmed concerts on their YouTube channel.

Cheers, I appreciate that.  I've not listened to Solaris in a very long time, will need to again soon by the sounds.

Oh wow, thank you so much.  I'm really happy to hear that, the same thing happens to me when I listen to certain Cryo Chamber records - made my week to read that!

Thank you, given the week I didn't want to take people out into space to creep them out so I'm glad it worked smile
