Hello Hello HELLOOOOOO !!!

Hope everybody's doing really great. I've missed my WB global family. Really looking forward to hear from so many of you in this 2024!!!

I wanted to start the year with a huge banger, instead I got this: my very first project completely made in Reaper. I'm still learning this wonderful DAW but it runs flawlessly, specially on Linux.

The song is some straightforward electro (IMHO) created from a 4 bar pattern in my Yamaha RM1x. I know there are people doing wonders with its sequencer, but I still don't know how to break the "just a loop" barrier, so basically everything else was made pretty early "inbox" after extracting every track to audio.

Acid bleeps courtesy of the Behringer TD3. Fantastic machine at a fair price.

It's supposed to be "a mix still in the works", but I'm somewhat sligthly sick, in a hotel and on duty. My ears are tired and I don't think I'm improving anything from the early mix back at my home studio. In the spirit of some best Weekly projects... "that should have to do it"

Lots of love to you, people. Glad to have the chance to be back another year!!!

Glad to see you again this year! I hope you get better soon.

It's a sweet track! I love the synth at 0:35. Backed by the mysterious pad, it takes us to a strange journey. Great acid tone on these lines after 2:15, adding to the palette of sounds.

Looking forward to more tracks this year!

Ohhhhh, niiiiice! Indeed, a banger to start the year off correctly! Digging the breaks and variations, and that mysterious middle eight section! Well done!

Cool stuff.  And the title is apt.  I can really picture this sound tracking a movie where the hero (possibly a cop?) is cruising through the dark seedy underbelly of the big city late at night.

I made the switch to Reaper in 2020 and I really like it.  They update it often... almost too often sometimes, but it always runs really smoothly for me and is easy to use once I got the hang of it.

I love ELectro, this is pretty good!

Also, Reaper rules!

Right up my alley, love the mood in this one. Great start!

Reaper is super low ressource hungry, works pretty good. I still run the latest 6 version, I won't jump on the v.7 yet as I'll have to put another 60USD but this is my main DAW for linear audio recording.

I am lucky to have access to Ableton 11, Logic Pro as well so I have a bunch of choices, but reaper is very good.

This is a jam! Nice movement. I still struggle with Reaper UX. Good to know it works well with Linux!

Sweet beats and squelchy acid lines that take me back to 90s warp record days ala Aphex Twin's ambient tracks.  Good to see you back!  Thank you for the kind words as well.  Here's to a happy 2024!

RM1x + REAPER on Linux, f yeah!  The pads sound massive—what were they?

oh shit laguna in da house!

that beat is sooo 80s 808, the acid line fits perfectly... now I just want some oldskool MC to start rapping... and later wanna hear some female vocals...

Now that I think of it... it`s really the perfect balance of oldskool and nuskool electro o_O well done!

Perfectly 90ies vibe. Nice to have this lesson in history. All the best for 2024.

l o v e this

Hey, hope you're already feeling better. Love this, the drums are absolutely banging and sound huge in the mix

Hey hey, happy 24 WB! You've been a stable here since I started in 2016 and I always enjoy your tunes, and this one is no exception. Great electro acidey vibes, way to open with a banger. All the best in 2024!

This electro is smooth AF. Nice work!

Amazing job with a new DAW. The acid is so expertly done. Ooooohhhh wow, love the mood change @ 1:12. The pads are so immersive and haunting.

Delightful dark undertones.

I wish you a lot of creativity this Year!

Great chill electro vibes. Also awesome that you're using Linux Reaper - that's what I used for almost all my WBs from 2016-2022!
