Fungus detective

By laguna on October 16, 2016 11:59 pm

I almost had some pure chiptune track ready, but I'm afraid the file wasn't saved in my Cloud folder so it's stuck at home until I get back. So I revamped an old soundscape that never went very far.

I think this one is probably my weirdest submission by far, although maybe it doesn't sound that bad...

Basically Ableton and Reaktor for the clean reverb (well, not exactly a "clean" track) and a lot of crossmodulation and automation. I couldn't load the original project because I didn't had my copy of NI Replika loaded so I used a bounce of the whole mix and modulated it like any other source...

It sounded like some mystery tune for a kid show, but I couldn't decide if the "fungus detective" is some person that investigates fungus, or a fungus that does detective work smile

I know it doesn't make much sense, guys, but I tossed this in less than two hours

P.S.: There's a little mistake at the end, so basically the fade out is ommited from the file. Sorry about that. I'll ask for a reupload/soundcloud link to the proper version.

Have a great week, y'all!!!

You can come up with all the excuses you want, but it doesn't mean this ain't great! This track could REALLY build if you ever decided to go back to it. smile

so mysterious!! nice work.

consider me spooked but intrigued. The bass that comes in at the half way point has an inquisitive aspect to it, so the name is good smile

Different, but different is also good! A crime-fighting fungus, who knew?

yeah very "organic" build up... i see the fungus connection...

I like the slow buildup and the quiet outro.  I think it actually makes a good interlude-type track smile
