Dark water

I found this one quite advanced inside the 2023 projects folder, however the beat felt quite stale on the early arrangement so I tried hard to add some variation in order to make it less monotone.

The sparse melody is really one line of Native Instruments Rounds and two of its bounces, slightly out of sync (like a sixteenth note or so). Nothing really that clever, but like in techno, I take some of those tracks in and out every 4 or 8 bars trying to add some interest.

The beat comes from the killer 808 start of the super dope killer ballad "Lady in red" by Chris de Burgh... and I DO f***ing love that song smile

So yeah, not every powerful drum machine is on an 80's electro record. I chopped it manually on my Akai s3000xl... and some day I must finish the whole song that was programmed with it.

Hope you enjoy this one. It's nothing too fancy, but I'm glad I finished something with at least an hour of margin.

Lots of love to you, WB people around the world !!!

Cool vibes. Not really the same feel at all, but the soundscape reminds me a bit of CharlesTheFirst

hot dam this is fire, I like this a lot

That low chorusy synth sound from Rounds is very nicely designed. It touches bass territory but it makes sense since you give it enough space to reverberate. And the subtle chords work very nice. "Dark water", indeed. A very fitting title.

I know this doesn’t sound like Lady in Red, but would love some similarly styled vocals over this track. I really like this groove!

very chill. Love the synth design

i missed this last week, but so glad i ended up back over here.
love it! and i also effing love 'Lady in Red.' deeply nostalgic and moving song for me
