The Capitalist Zombie Apocalypse (TM)

By Kedbreak136 on January 14, 2024 2:51 am

Here's a track inspired by a wild bunch of random stuff. Devieus had a great sentence that caught me, a week ago. "That's just capitalism, baby" and that created a whole storm of ideas! I mixed that with ideas of zombie funk based off old black and white zombie movies. And then some Rob Zombie vibe. And then someone (sorry I cannot find who) shared a tweet of a company doing an AI version of Elvis, which made its way into the track (with the twist that Abraham Lincoln appears as well, and they'll do tap dancing). And Liam Neeson appearing as an old indiana jones fighting off zombies who are bothering his cat and his tv.

THIS IS CAPITALISM BABY.

I had too much fun with this track, this should not be legal. This is also the brother of WB2022 tracks like The Funk Kung Fu School of Crane, and Wanted.
All samples come from splice, and the voices were generated using vo.codes.

This song is cash money.
The only thing more fire than this song are these hot, hot sales.
- Devieus

A wild brew of sounds and images that manages to gel together perfectly.  This is much better than capitalism.

This is fun!!! Love all the vocal samples!

Wow, that bass is funky. big_smile
Also, how'd you get GLaDOS to agree to freestyle on your track?

It's black Friday everyday!

Rock yeah!

Plus de cossins pour plus de bonheur!

Kind of a metal-industrial vibe with funky bass.  Great samples, nice whip cracks!

I love that 60s organ vibe going on which also brings a bit of the eerie old school horror sound.  A clever mix of funk and heavy.  Only a 100% interest rate.

Mindblowing!
Yeah @entropica metal-industrial vibes...
Big My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult sound here! Love it.

How much to buy a CD? wink

The timing offset on the voiceover does so much, and I'm not sure why. Really enjoyable track/journey into the core of the machine. I'm off to the uaudio website to buy some more plugins, thanks for the inspo.

Love it! Reminds me of Think Tank’s “Skullbuggery”, the song and the entire album.

I love that Devieus is inspiring everyone with the things they say in the discord server, haha. Phil had that song "one day, per day".
Super funky and groovy. Oh shit, a GLADoS collab?! I like the spooky alien synth that fills between the funk sections, and the metal parts are rad too. CAPITALISM, BABBBYYYYYY!!!!!

It's just two so far, but maybe someday it'll be you.

The truth is, the inspiration was inside them all along, just needed a friend along the way to get it out.

Awesome track! Love the crazy drums at 1:50! And also everywhere else. Love the tongue in cheek lyrics! It's amazing how you manage to create such rich visuals with your music, all the zombie sounds and little details are so cool!

I like the bass too but I wish it was less computery sounding and more human-funk. This way it takes a bit away from the funk and gives it to the story that it's all cheap computery 90s capitalism compromise stuff, so it's appropriate and not bad, but I'd rather have more human funk if that makes sense. Anyway thanks for another brilliant track!

O.o You're really on top of your sample game. o.O

this is so cool, love the bass so much

i DO want a credit card for my children (my children are also credit cards so i assume i can transfer them big_smile)

It is a stormy song indeed. Very intelligent executed.

Boooooommm! Not much else to say

So much going on but all sounds were separate and clear. Loved the theme, great job!

yesssss! so good!

ooooooooooooooooooh
funky zombie collage! this is... wait for it... killer!
giving me some visions of a zombie jet set radio game hahaha
can I interest you in a credit card?

I'm here to dig thru ditches, burn thru 'zombies' as i slap bass in my dragulaaaaa!  Also I never knew I needed Liam Neeson as a much older Indy.  Love the fun of the bassline throughout! Excelente!

It's black friday everyday : D excellent.

Hell yeahhhhh dude, this is awesome.  Loving this bass, super funky.  Very interesting room sound too, sounds like the amp is points straight down at you.

Funky and wild!
it's a great track

This is going into my Bombrush Cyberpunk radio station just as soon as I can figure out how to customize it

i'm not as good with words like you are kedb but this track really captures the thing - like i can see it visually...

i read a quote by Dr. King (monday is a federal holiday on his birhtday in the US)that made me think of your track this week - i like how it holds so much complexity - he wrote this book right before he was assassinated:

“Truth is found neither in traditional capitalism nor in classical Communism. Each represents a partial truth. Capitalism fails to see the truth in collectivism. Communism fails to see the truth in individualism. Capitalism fails to realize that life is social. Communism fails to realize that life is personal. The good and just society is neither the thesis of capitalism nor the antithesis of Communism, but a socially conscious democracy which reconciles the truths of individualism and collectivism.” ― Martin Luther King Jr., Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?

heart

YES! This is fire. This is capitalism for sure, the zombie that can't stop, won't stop consuming. Props to Devieus for planting the seed, so cool when that happens. Awesome samples throughout, I love the sample collage vibe. That slap bass is classic funk that juxtaposes with the heavier aspects, your tracks are great at that kind of mashing-up, so cool. Glad you had fun making, it sure sounds like it! A new anthem!

I can see the montage from the opening credits of Dawn Of The Dead (2004).

this song is only missing Devieus going "THAT'S CAPITALISM, BABY!"

love that funky bassline. really fun track, fun listen :-)

What an inspiration heart heart heart

YESSSSSS!!! So damned true and dig the monster effects and GLaDOS sound bytes. Last year every day was legit Black Friday. When it finally came it was the same damned deals we saw all year 😤.

Brilliant track.

I often hear a vocal chop or sample and get inspired by it to create a track around it, great job finding all these vocal samples to fit with the theme of the track, especially the "It's Black Friday everyday"

Oh man! this song is amazing!!

I AM ALWAYS DOWN FOR SPICY ANTI-CAPITALIST JAMS!!

omg glados! And this phat ass romplery bass hitting so good. lmao 100% interest rate, honestly what a deal these days. I do need a new synth (I do not in fact need a new synth).

It only cost me one arm and a leg, but I got a few credit cards so I guess i win? Also vo.codes is the way to go to get GlaDOS in you tracks!

Yes I think you're right, there is some KMFDM or My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult in there. Also the whip cracks are a nice sample pack I got from splice and i'm trying to amortize them by using them as much as I can. It's surprising how many tracks can be improved with whip crack samples.

Yes indeed! I love the album Confessions of a Knife, i have rotated that album so many times it's a miracle it has not worn out yet.

How much money do you have? It will be exactly more than that amount! But we can get you a credit.

Interesting point about the timing offset. I think I was trying to reproduce High Voltage by Eletric Six. There is that whole sequence where the singer and the lady kinda sing together but it's kinda off and it just adds to the whole crazy atmosphere of the track. It made its way into that one.

Yes, Devieus has some fun one-liners that can give a lot of ideas. Thank you for listening and I'm glad you enjoyed the track!

Thank you for the feedback about the bass! In week 3, I took the same sound and tried to make it more human based on your feedback. We'll see if that worked out. smile

Thank you for this deep quote. I had not heard that from Dr. King and I think he captures the wisdom of seeing the positives in all aspects and taking a measured approach of the middle path.

I need to ask Devieus to record some lines. Or maybe i'll record a WeeklyMeeting and use that as samples in the future!

It is madness, right? I have never experienced one as it's not a thing where I live but having seen some videos, I'm kinda glad we don't have that here.

Thank you! Actually most vocals in this track are not really samples, there are AI generated voices. I use vo.codes, choose the voice, put some random sentence, and it speaks it. It totally lacks emotion and sometimes does not work at all, but that allows for fun tracks. smile I don't think I could ever find the samples I used in this track.
