Robot Ball

By Kedbreak136 on June 16, 2024 11:51 am

A bit of a derivative track, extracting as much as I can from a couple of chord progressions and lots of arps. This feels like re-visiting the robot planets from the 2022 tracks.

Extract away! This progression of arp patterns and harmonies feels quite nice. big_smile

Gotta love some arps.  This definitely gives strong robot feels.

I can hear the Robots very well. They are polished and strong. They are doing their job, what they are programmed for. 1.55 there is one of them not working properly. But 2.18 everything goes back to normal. Well done.

Arps are always fun for finding melodies/ideas when we sometimes can't intially hear it.  Hold it down and then the creativity flows!  This feels like the robots have awakened and are getting ready to mass produce whatever it is they pro-duce smile  Oh sweet tinkly ivories midway thru that lead into the next arp.  Higher up the conveyor belt we go! Love the spinning machine outro fx.

Love the parts at 0:50 and 2:40, that lead synth goes hard, the crunchy arps and robot samples sound good too. Totally feels like a boppin' robot ball.

oh wow I love how this bursts in with the mechanical noises... they are really well mixed

somehow make me want to play One Must Fall 2097 ;P iykyk

there's something very demoscene-y in the progression and transposes

the arps sound so good, really driving the track forward, and then the breakdown with the jazzy solo, really great stuff

ARPPEGIATOR POWERED big_smile

Definitely a retro feel to this one and I like the human-feeling slightly offbeat break in the middle. Also the kind of wet, frog ribbity sound in the background

Dig the more modulated tones against the smoother arp sounds before the stomping robot overlord dance begins.  A bit of a disco vibe in the progression and I enjoyed the small piano solo amongst the more rigid rhythms.

Those organs at the very beginning promise "Interstellar" but then you went into an entirely different direction. "Tron: Legacy" pleases me just as well, you even included sound effects for greater immersion. Good track, and the unexpected piano line serves for a very nice break!

That robot refused to be stereotyped and be put in a boring scale box, and decided to go jazzy. I love him for that.

Thank you very much! Robots seem to know how to have fun. Who knows, once they have taken over, maybe the world will be a better place.

Thank you very much! Arps and jazz solo, it's like mustard on sushis, it should be a crime but yet somehow works (i have never tried to be honest)

Yes, I wanted to spice it up a little. All these rigid grid needed some disruption and an element of surprise.

I love Tron Legacy, and its abuse of synthwavy arps. Thank you for commenting!
