Lying by the stream

By Kedbreak136 on February 15, 2026 7:08 am

Another challenging week, not helped as I got hit by a bad cold. I rolled out of bed to make this short and feverish track. Woodblocks, stream foley, marimba, shakuhachi (bamboo flute). It is super unquantized and organic, and I somehow like it like that.

NO ONE needs quantization

hope you are feeling better!

this works great with the greek islands track

have you played the game The Witness?  this reminds me of the bamboo forest.

hope you feel better soon(eat lots of chicken soup, stay hydrated) heart
i like this soundscape, with the rushing water, and the woodblocks like sparse droplets of water, everything... just... as if while balanced delicately on the head of a pin, fits so perfectly smile

Sorry you're not feeling well, but this evokes a peaceful and tranquil place.  It seems like a nice spot to relax and meditate.

Ohhh shit! Hello fellow shakuhachi player!! I did not expect to find another one on WB smile. Love the composition you've put together -- it's so mellow and peaceful. Also the honkyoku meditation pieces don't have quantization smile, so I see nothing wrong here! The movements of the flute jumping into the upper register are really nice

when you're not feeling well sometimes you need to sit by the river and play your flute. Take care!

Modern society tells me to get a job and put up with the noise of the city when all I want is to sit by a stream hitting woodblocks.

SUPER nice lying by the stream, love the percussions. there is a rhythm emerging from the seeming randomness of hits, and it's cool that it's unquantized. didn't think to use that term until I read your description. I def don't need quantization but I guess it has its uses (I used it on some drums this year, kinda helps).

this composition has an air of mystery. the river is so nicely grounded. makes me think how important nature is and how we can be more kind towards it.

Very relaxing... Les wood blocks donnent une super ambiance. Remets toi bien!

JP.

Stream foley?
I liked this one a lot a lot. Shakuhachi sounds great!!

I feel like this could be on a loop for hours and I would just get lost in it... wonderfully meditative track.

This hahaha

Very meditative. Subjective but this one was a bit sparse for my taste.

thank you for this, hope you are feeling better!

oooh what a serene meditative escape heart. I hope you're feeling mucho better.

Nice sound design, the loose feel of it does sound like I just stumbled upon a running stream in a bamboo forrest while an old man sits and plays the flute unaware and uninterested in my approach.

Love the calmness and space here. It does make me wanna go to the river and play a flute. Putting that on the to do list for sure. The percussion rhythm is cool too.

Tranquil, NyQuil, water

Always unquantised if possible I reckon!

This has a really chill vibe about but with the slightest element of tension.  Something may happen.  I think it's because it reminds me of some vintage Japanese films.

Nice one!  Hope you've kicked that cold too.

ah ouais merde moi aussi je l'ai eu pendant une semaine et demi c'était vraiment de la merde x_X

Encore une belle histoire cryptique contée avec le son, j'adore...!

The atmosphere is natural and calming. Hope you are fine again.

This piece indeed needed no quantization. But I? I personally use a shit ton of it. All the time, every time. All the way.

Wonderfully immersive. I felt that.

Very relaxing, and human.
