Hauntings

An uninspired week resulted in me playing on Sunday afternoon with a few sounds and a very simple chord progress (C and A, not even going for a third chord). I sprinkled even some action strings towards the end. This track is a bit half baked but I don't dislike it. Would not mind revising it to make a real sensible track out of this maybe in the future.

It really does long for a third cord. Any of them, really. Everything else is really good, just feels stuck.

There is a big portion of 80ies in here manifested. A cool powerful track.

There's definitely a strong foundation at work here.  Great energy and an epic cinematic sound.  It has a very propulsive feel to it.

Great movement & variety. I love all the percussion sounds and those strings are SUCH a great addition. I think throwing a third chord in there to resolve things here & there would be worthwhile, but just the two gives it a subtle feeling of foreboding - like, something needs to happen and it hasn't and WHAT IS IT AAAAA
I like it!

(Also, I'm a hypocrite because I usually have a single chord and no more, so I'm one to talk.)

Love the tone of the opening percussion.  This made me feel like I was about to watch one of my fav childhood 80s tv shows, Street-Hawk.  Honestly the 2 chord progression worked for me.  Everything moved and grooved with such an energizing feel.  \m/

Great groove, make me wanna move. Def some fodder for future if you go back to it, but its fun listen as is, even with two chords.

"Airwolf" called, they want their 1984 attack helicopter vibes back! Joking aside, this is only '80s in a small part, a lot of the sound design here is decidedly more modern. And that orchestra reminds of "The Rock" action movie.

I liked it but agree with the others that it ends without a resolution. Which ironically is how a lot of the actual soundtrack movements end. So to this effect it does feel like a genuine soundtrack sequence.

i love a good 2 chord romp, and this fit the bill  smile

I really enjoyed this, especially that breakdown at 0:45, some really interesting percussion sounds in there, the strings were a good addition at the end.

Yes not much movement. Listening back to it, there are some sounds i like but it needs to go somewhere.

Thank you very much for this kind comment. A lot of 80s, can't get rid of my childhood.

Hehe it's ok to use a single chord. Let's call that "minimalism"! I think there is nothing inherently bad about one or two chords, it's just that it was more a symptom of my lack of inspiration. I like when a track pulls on the leash and wants to go somewhere. But this one just wanted to lay down under the sun.

Thank you very much, this is kind. I get a recurrring theme of 80s show there. smile

Yes I think that's what it is, a fodder for something in the future. Maybe when the track has finished sleeping under the pants and decides to go somewhere, then we'll build something together.

Actually i loved airwolf, so that's a compliment. Everybody commenting on the fact that this sounds like a 80s series track... hey that works for me, I kinda liked them!

Thank you very much! I tried to change a little the vibe with strings. I struggled a little to be honest but it's good to try different things.
