Count Schmabeulbleuk

I am experimenting with my new library of Organs. So far I am still struggling with the mix and how to place it properly. It's a bit too mushy and does not quite have the sense of scale I'm looking for.

Anyway.

This is a fun doodle, like the soundtrack to an 80s cartoon about horror and mad scientists.

If it had some shredding guitar over the top of it, I'd totally have Buckethead vibes going on.  \m/

And how good are organs!  I actually really enjoy using organ type tones.

Hell yais!  Love the fast paced drums with the heavy organ.  Castlevania vibes amped up to +11! \m/

Whoa!

Les drums sont violent!

Super fun track, oui ca a pas l'air facile a poser dans un mix les orgues, ca prends vraiment toutes la largeur des fréquences.

Ca pourrait être ta "Halloween" submission. smile

First off, love everything about this. Composition, instruments, everything. No notes.

Second, having spent a lot of time trying to mix organs myself, a thing I learned is that organs never exist in isolation. They’re built to be a part of their rooms, and as such their sound is inextricably tied to it. The hard lesson for me to learn was normal algorithmic reverbs will not get this vibe right. As soon as abandoned my favorite verbs and started using captured IRs of various real rooms, my organs started falling into place.

The organs and wolf howls and various creepy noises instantly put me in the mind frame of watching cartoons about Dracula as a kid.  This would be a great Halloween track.

Monster mash party! Double bass drums driving! Monsters ... dancing a little? It shimmies and shakes. Organs sound good, the build this castle!

Also great name, I have been trying different ways of pronouncing Schmabeulbleuk for a while now.

love this, super fun track!

re: organs - i have also found them difficult to mix at times. this is great advice:

my favorite organ mixes i've done are when i've played or re-amped the signal through my guitar amp and set up a couple mics, 1 close and 1 capturing more of the room. sometimes i don't even use the close mic. even when just recording my old Casio SK-5 on the organ setting, playing through the amp always seems to help it work better in the mix.
and yeah if amping isn't an option, using a convolution reverb with a nice room Impulse Response is my preference.  smile

I thought the same thing as Tone Matrix, Castlevania vibes!  Love those games, could see Simon whipping his way through the castle to this soundtrack.
