Black Stone

By Kedbreak136 on December 8, 2024 12:13 pm

I had a good idea for a pirate punk track but got side tracked and went down an exploratory track based on a weird meditation about a dark lake, a large black go stone, and a desert. Don't ask me why. Most sound come from the Straylight NI library, with also some sounds from Pharlight. I love the range of sounds and how cinematic they are.

This feels cinematic! It would score the scene of a crew slowly being awakened from their cryosleep, only to find out that instead of 500 days, they were hybernating for 500 years.
Super cool soundcape!

Straight out of Odyssey 2000. I can feel the eternity. Well done.

I can taste the tension.

Ominous and vivid.  Could easily see it in a movie where the characters have gotten themselves into an unknown and dangerous predicament.

i can see it in my mind's eye, so patiently evolving.
thank you for sharing this with us

Love the wide expansive feel this has.  Like drops falling one by one into a lake as giant stones grind together unearthing a treasure.  Excellent growly pad that comes in too.

Excellent sound scape and movement through out. Feels like a dramatic movie trailer. The drop and return was perfectly timed.

Some really nice sounds here, like how everything is given lots of space to breathe, very cinematic, I got images of the movies ALIENS or Event Horizon from this one.

Beautiful narrative in this one. Love the imagery these sounds conjure up!

Totally agree about the NI "Light" trilogy.  Pharlight is my favorite, there's just something about human voices through granular processing that hits me just right.  I LOVE this track.  You've built such a moody atmosphere... with such a great sense of anticipation... and building tension.  Awesome track.

Written description ~ Twin Peaks Return
Sound = much more pleasant
Another favorite! I like the minimal flavor!

Il vente en tout cas!!!

Très cool textures.

Both are great libraries and I'm glad you strayed down this path instead of the pirate one.  Haha.
Lovely floating cinematics right here and I really enjoy the minimalism.  The track is also tastefully wrapped up at the end.  Nice one!

Yes huge range of sounds, great sounds exploration here. A soundtrack to the rainy gray weather I'm looking at. Nice exploration. I hope we hear your pirate punk some day though!
