Asleep

By Kedbreak136 on June 23, 2024 11:16 am

I spent a lot of time on a track that still like and have hopes for, but I could not make it work. It started feeling more like pain than anything else so I switched gears and started a new track from scratch, which would be the antithesis. This track was all about play, delight in fun sounds, and going with the flow without overthinking it.

Ok, ok, I guess this does not exactly sound like a fun delightful track, but I assure you that the creation process was.

I wanted to capture another alien planet, with maybe some entity that is breathing deeply, as if asleep. And maybe you don't want to wake that one up.

I have had busy weeks, need to go back and listen to all the cool tracks people are putting out!

Very atmospheric! Can easily imagine the song as part of a soundtrack.

nice pivot, this was really cool and deep. don't wake the creature!

The intro sounds ominous and scary, when the arps first kicked in I felt a sense of wonder, but then the next section with the storm sounds felt even scarier than the beginning.  I can see how this could have been a lot of fun to assemble.

I like the track. There's indeed an exploration feel to it, and it provides a great background to work. Then it fades rather unceremoniously, leaving me confused in silence big_smile It only goes to show that the soundscape you built is successful!

I 100% would not want to wake up whatever is sleeping at the beginning of this track... this whole thing is just dark and evil in ALL the right ways “ψ (`∇´) ψ .  I really like the use of the thunderstorm samples in the middle.  Creates a really palpable atmosphere.  Very well done, particularly for a "pivot" track.

You hit the spot. I can totally dive into this atmosphere. It is true, whatever sleeps there, has an eye on me.
You gave the track an extra amount of time to observe the scenery. Very well done.

The deep, gritty vocal drone is a really neat textural touch. Love the vibe you managed to capture with this one. big_smile

Loving the deep rumbly sounds going through the whole track. Love the atmosphere and textures, esp in the second half - I can feel the mood you were going for.

Nice one. agreed it is a fun listen. love the really low synths. Ca me fait un peu penser a du Jean Michel Jarre avec les arpèges qui roulent et les gigantesque pads.

Bien joué!

Such a sinister and dark feeling to this.  That low guttural synth sounds so eerie and cool.  Feels like a robot  downloaded alien maps and is setting out to hunt the dark creature (like the neverending story wolf) Nice work!

way to find the playfulness!
