i hear you walking around in my songs
calling my name while we sleep
standing on our tipping toes
meeting in a secret dream
we're sitting in the waiting room
falling further in
we're sitting in the waiting room
falling further in/to love
built (with permission) on Napear's enchanting week 28 track, 'Waiting Room.' thank you again, Friend.

after some discussion with onezero about convolution reverb on his lovely week 36 track, 'Windmill-Hill,' i decided to try using convolution reverb on my bus(ses) this week. i used an impulse from a collection that onezero shared with me, and i am really happy with how it worked for this track.
thanks again, Maurice!
the insect sounds have been pretty intense here lately. i've actually been rather enjoying it. i find it calming and almost hypnotizing at times. anyway, i decided not to fight with them while recording this one. i was sitting at my desk and had windows open on both sides of me. i thought they sounded rather grand in stereo like that, so i set up a mic in front of each window and recorded them in stereo and mixed that into the track.
*i also couldn't resist slowing them down ~25% and bring that in on select parts of the song as well.
i posted a few pics of that mic setup on instagram. if you'd like to see those and/or connect on IG, you can do so here.
ok!
ps: : when i was looking up the Napear link to include, i was reminded of the triumphant track that Devieus had shared back on Week 29 that also incorporated 'Waiting Room.' check it out: HERE if you haven't already.
Once again the ambient foundation combines really well with the strummed acoustic guitar to build a magical and comforting sound world. Love the slowed down insects as well.

I mean... I'm sorta jealous of your insect choir now! This is swirly dreamy nostalgic in all my favourite ways. The space is ethereal and wide open and then the rhythmic snaps show me the shape of the room perfectly like sonar, it transports me... right into the waiting room with you.
But outside space is flowing by like glowing waves.
Really beautiful. Masterful mix in an in awe.

Beautiful work! Your instrumental and vocal performance are fine as always, and the cross-genus collaboration is wonderful. (Any sound worth hearing is worth hearing slower.)
I'm also glad to have helped a bit with the impulses--everything sounds great!

There you go tugging on those emotional strings of mine again... This is so pretty, congrats to you and Napear!
Also, wanna hear a minor coincidence? The very first song I ever wrote was called "In the waiting room", hahahaha...

Solid track, it is great that you are inspired by this community and do all those "collaborations" or re-visit some of the previous tracks.
I really like the acoustic guitars work there.
Well played.

Love the details here, the snaps and gaps. It works real well with that ambient feel in the background and then a kinda folky indie vibe with it. Beautiful.
Great job!

This is absolutely lovely. No way is this an over 6 minute track. Sat here with my hands over my mouth for most of it.
Your vocals continue to astound me. Lovely harmony, with emotion and texture to spare.
The acoustic guitar coupled with the ambient background was a treat. It invited the listener to sink deeper.
Fantastic work. Thank you so much.

I am a total fan of that combination of earthy sounds and acoustic stuff, combined with whooshing ambiences and spacy textures. A winning combination if done well and here it is . Great one!

Love the opening and overall progression that gets introduced before your vocals. The way it energetically loops back into itself on that last chord is great and so catchy. You have a natural ability for adapting Napear's atmospherical tracks. The bugs are a nice touch on the outro, as i've been a fan of them myself lately Beautiful harmonies throughout that make this lovely song feel like a recharge.

The acoustic with the chill snap beat over the ambient spellcasting feels fantastic. This is such a cozy song/arrangement. Props to the buggos for nailing their part

thank you! i don't have a lot of knowledge of modes, but i thought i would actually try to understand what Lydian was for this track. it definitely gave me some inspiration to try to introduce the F# into something in C, and i think it helped make that acoustic progression a little more interesting. twas kinda hypnotic to play!

Gorgeous track - love how well all the layers work together here - Napear's synth textures, all the guitars, the snaps, shakers and of course the great vocals. The ambience feels melancholy, spacey and yet cozy. Listening on repeat.

Dude, the mix on this is awesome. I'm still amazed what you have been able to do with all the tracks from this ambient series. So good.
thank you, Friend! i know i've joked about your "ambient spell-casting," but your music really has resonated with me in a way that has felt downright magical at times. these collabs have meant a lot to me and have brought some unexpected things out. like thinking back on some of them, i'm still not quite sure how it all came together. i've also learned a lot about mixing and deep listening from you, so i am very grateful.

Such a good song, very peaceful. Thanks for the shout-out, really just goes to show both how good the original is, and how good we the people are at expressing with two vastly different results.
I reckon the next step is cutting the middle man and make a collaboration directly.
