Intro kind of made me think of Arthur Russel for a bit but, quickly heads off to its own thing
For me, I think this is a favorite of your tracks from this year. Tones are dialed in. It feels very tight.
I don't think I have ever heard a song where the vocals and guitar are so well matched in every aspect. Its like you're all part of the same chorus it's brilliant!
Also there's that subtle JWH Exclusive unhinged quality that nonetheless reminding me of "Pretty People" by Low for some reason.
Awesome ![]()
Always a pleasure listening to what you’ve come up with. I feel like the main riff will be stuck in my head all day and I don’t mind! This is great and I love the lyrics!
So many satisfying melodies and riffs packed in this weekly track. And this is mixed to the right amount, with taste, giving it life and breath. Inspiring. I want to be like jwh when i grow up.
You'd try to disappoint us, you wouldn't manage to.
My highlight (besides everything that's great): the laid-back drums are great and give a sense of welcome nonchalance, making everything even more organic (you're already using acoustic instruments but you get the point).
Excellent.
Guitar and vocals sound excellent and so tight! Felt like I was watching a music video with the pacing of the lyrics. Love the lyrics especially the line, "disappointed by your figure eight". I also learned a new word yay! Scuse me while I listen to the catchy guitar melodies once mo! \m/
Also pardon me hittibg submit too soon but the mix is friggin awesome! Guitars are panned so cool especially with the sort of call and response they have. Then the vocal harmonies! Yais i like. Your mixing skillz are at 11 nao!
Woah unexpected siren.
Great crunchy dry guitar tone.
I love how fractured the guitar and beat are and you will at this point be unsurprised at me making Eliot Smith comparisons.
That guitar rocks. You know the one. The other one too.
Love the beat, too.
- Valx
Riff so tasty got me bustin out the dictionary!
Solid.
That guit motive is great. Your well performed vocal with just enough saturation over it is a great mix.
And yeah, I love a bit of drum on a "rock" track, so I have all of it.
Great track. Thanks for the music!
Another awesome track right here. Love how slightly dirty everything sound. Will echo the other comments complimenting the mix, it's pretty much perfect imo!
Nice job with all the aspects of this one. I need to think on these lyrics. ![]()
Those are some killer drums, love how they mesh with the bass and guitar, this song is great … and then at 2:05 it got even better!
Guitar tones are on point, love the way you play with dynamics on the edge of breakup and the spacious effects in the intro. Fuzzy lead and the thick bass slap too. This song somehow feels a lot heavier that it actually is.
All round awesomeness.
Such a powerful twangy riff. 😊 Perfect compliment to your vocals and lyrics. Awesome track jwh!
I had to google both "propinquity" and "iniquity", but now that i think i understand them: Genius line.
A lot of people have already commented on the guitar, which is great as always, but i think the big draw for me with a lot of your stuff (and this one espescially) is your knack for narrative and story telling.
Oh that riff, I'm hooked in this groove. Love the vocal, yes I need to look up that title word too, great line. I didn't understand, now I do!
This track is built on such a rock solid riff! Your lyrical work is incredible (and has many of us diving for the dictionary it seems) and that guitar solo too! Wonderful work all around.
got um!

appreciate you mentioning the drums, AiDeRen. i've been getting more comfortable and having a lot of fun recording the acoustic drums lately.

i love this, Dustsucker. and here is why:
i've been on a big Neil Young kick and i was thinking about how some songs that i heard when i was younger feel SO HEAVY in my head/ memory, and then sometimes when i do a deep listen i realize the actual sounds are not super BIG AND DISTORTED, but it's more about how everything is working together to convey the feeling.
his Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere album really brought that into focus for me and i tried to keep that in mind when working on this song. so yeah, thank you
This track has some real attitude.wonderful.
sometimes we gotta show them some Real Attitude, right??
Such a powerful twangy riff. 😊 Perfect compliment to your vocals and lyrics. Awesome track jwh!
Had to follow-up comment to praise the outro solo. So cool!
thank you, levelcapybara. you can probably tell how much fun i was having playing that solo
Love the riff. Always amazing stuff.
