feet movin'

By jwh on June 14, 2026 12:41 am

thanks so much to all of you who offered words of comfort about our friend Andy this past week.
Andy had these phrases of encouragement that he would often say, to motivate himself - or maybe to motivate me. both? probably both. one of those was phrases was, "feet movin'!"

i feel like change is coming, and i can use some motivation. maybe you could too? maybe this little toe tapper can help. feet movin'!

XO,
jwh

Always nice to get the old feet moving.  Love the happy feel good vibe of this.  A mood lifter for sure.

what a warm nostalgic feelin guitar sound heart Music for the change a comin! I'm motivated!

Aww the vocals near the end add such a warmth and intimacy, really lovely. And I adore the rambling rhythm/time sig, delightful heart

Lovely bit of grit and warble to the tone.  Gives it that bit of friendly warmth.  smile

I could live in this vibe for a long time. warm, real and vinyl with yours and Emily's vocals. what's not to love.
I have massive respect and admiration for you and your musicality. hope you keep serving them up!

So warm and cozy.

When you have not much energy, that it is rainy outside, that the heart is not there, grab the guitar, plug it on an amp and strum a couple chords...

This will fix "everything".

Love me some dirty blue jeans-ish guitar. Also, Djippy is right on. 'lectric guitar... fixes everything. Everytime.

Sometimes you just gotta take life one step at a time.

I love the wonk of the guitars

I feel this could be the incidental music of a 90's indie slacker film shot on black and white film.

Love the intense pitch wobble and mellow jam vibes. Needs some ragged old analog home-movie footage to go along with it.
Got my head boppin' and my feet tappin' heart

That's a really beautiful phrase, and one that'll definitely come in handy. This track's a wonderful counterpart to that saying. It steadily grows in such a warm way. heart Take care jwh.

Spot on. This would be a nice cinematic comedown after something intense or backing a casual walk down a sleepy town sidewalk.

i am in a town
walking down to the town square
i found you waiting there
waiting there for me

we walked a while in the town
to the park we sat down
we chatted about our time
the time we had lived

we waited for the sun
it set in the horizon
in the town we were in
time to begin again

Yes to change and motivation, thanks for this uplifting tune and positive vibes.

what a beautiful poem, I really enjoyed this, thank you

That riff is killer; it's kinda snoozy, it doesn't know why yet but it's happy it's time to get going.

Feels like the first coffee sip of the day!

Perfect track right here, really

This is such chill afternoon vibes. Dr Dog vibes a plenty.

"Feet movin'" is such a wonderful phrase. I think I'm going to start telling myself and my friends that, I think it's great!
This track is superb. The guitar tones are so rich and warm that I want to be as close to those amps as possible. And the understated la's on the vocal melody are just perfect. This song sounds so simple at first but on second listen there's so many intricacies there hiding in plain sight, you just make them sound effortless! Well done!

Feet movin' is a great phrase of  encouragement. Reminds me of this lively Latin  phrase: solvitur ambulando
Meaning, "In walking it is  solved".

Or, as Ray Charles sings,
"Hit the  road, Jack"...but that song has a whole lotta other drama going on big_smile
