It has been an honor to work on music with you this year.  Thank YOU!!! heart

your not the only one whos thrilled about this song! this is definitely one of my favorites from you

Such a great collab to see the year out with, great work to all involved

This was so great and so much fun, even though I kinda didn't understand the drum assignment lol. It turned out beautifully. And I get the timing now. BRAIN SLOW HOLIDAYS 52 WEEKS OMG TOMFRIENDS.

It's been an absolute honour meeting you here, connecting, collaborating, chatting, listening, listening again, making music together and sharing this wonderful magical thing we have in common. Weekly Beats, working with you and so many musicians here, has propelled my work forward in ways I could never imagine - and made music I never dreamed I'd be able to make, and better yet, I made it with other people! Like you! MAGICAL.

So thank you heart You are a unique and magical creature and my life is equally more magical for having met you. Amazing.

TOMFRIENDS HOLY CARPS THE FROGS.

Amazing finish to an amazing year of music. Great melody, surprisingly intricate rhythms, lovely sax (we need more sax in pop!), great lyrics.

And thank you! - you definitely made WB 100x more memorable than it would've been otherwise, and you have my gratitude for that. Have a happy new year!

Brilliant way to finish the year, all of you have done an amazing job here, every week I would look forward to what you have crafted for our ears.  That line “every continuation of war is a loss” is so powerful, hopefully the world will understand.  Thanks again for all your music and positive energy you bring each week, all the best in the new year.

Wow! Such a great finale to the 52 weeks. My daughter just started playing tenor sax in her school band and she'll love hearing on "in the wild"!

jwh (Josh? Right?) thanks for taking the time to listen to my efforts at making music this year. It really added to my enjoyment of the this challenge and definitely helped me make it through to the end. Also, thank you for sharing your own creations and collaborations with us all. I enjoyed listening and I feel like I'm more likely to try singing in my music in the future after hearing your work this year. Thanks and best of luck in the future!

Beautiful. heart Awesome work to everyone on this collab. You folks have made this a special year musically.

Thanks for a year of beautifully realized songs. Hope to catch you again in 2026, and hope you have a restful and restorative off-year in the meantime! big_smile

Solid collaboration. Love your universe, pretty happy I could stumble on your music via those weekly beats. È

Wish you the best for 2025! See you in 2026!

Take care. smile

Oof, this collab is such a strong entry to finish the year with. I loved everything about it, but the moment when the sax comes in is just sublime. Everything comes together so perfectly. Congratulations to everybody involved. And the video is somewhat hilarious, I expected the guitar to be in sync with the song but it isn't. And by the time you're sweeping the floor, I just had to laugh. And that American gothic pose haha

I want to thank you for contributing so much this year.

First, your music was always a highlight and I looked forward to seeing what you came up with every time. Fantastic quality.

Second, you were one of the pillars of the community this year. So active, insightful and emanating this optimistic calm. It gave me, and I'm sure a lot of others, a lot of confidence to read your encouraging input on our work. It means a lot coming from a pro.

Third, I know that making videos on top of the music is just extra hard. You need to fit the recording and editing into that same weekly deadline. Most of us struggle just completing the music bits. I enjoyed watching your videos, it always gives an extra layer to the thing. I appreciate that!

What a perfect collab! Very smooth, I feel like I’m gliding on grass. That sax is a great element, definitely stands out in the best way. Very soulful and full of passion. Lovely note to end on. smile Congrats on finishing the year! It’s been a joy to listen to your tracks heart

Great song to end the year. The group effort really came together for this one. Great job to all smile

That sax hit me right in the middle of the feelings... This is so pretty!!! I think it captures the energy of celebrating an amazing accomplishment while also feeling a bit sad that things are coming to an end. Kind of like a graduation of sorts, you know? Great way to end the year.

Also, thanks so much for being such a bright shining light and force for good in weekly beats. The energy and stellar vibes you being to this place are off the friggin charts. The care you have in giving so much back to the community by listening and commenting on so many people's tracks is incredible. And the appreciation others feel towards you is palpable! Seriously, you should be really proud of not only having gone through WB, but for also having been such a central component of its overall positive and amazing vibes. I really appreciate you and am excited to hear what you'll be up to next! May 2025 treat you wonderfully well, my friend ❤️

Beautuful. Thank you for your music. Wishing all the gest for 2025!

Oh my, this was giving me strong feels, then I read the lyrics and chills.
This could be mantra to live by:
we can find peace
with people
who we don't understand

Just 'we can find peace' itself. just believing that gives hope, and I believe it.

And this sounds amazing from such a great group of collaborators, really great work everyone. I love that you have done so many collaborations this year. Creating music can be such a solo endeavor, but collaborating, while sometimes challenging is so powerful and meaningful for everyone. I want to do more of it in the future.

Thank you for another song of beauty a powerful moment here. Thanks for sharing so much good songs (and videos) this year. You are an amazing artist and I am grateful to have crossed paths with you here this year. And thank you for all your supportive comments and being a huge and uplifting part of this community!
Looking forward to your albums in 2025, and I'll find you out there on the socials.

All the best to you and yours. Happy 2025 - thank you, friend!

Great final track and yay for putting an all-star crew together to pull it off.  It radiates joy and beauty.

On a more general note, thank you for being such a wonderful and vital part of the community this year.  From the incredible music you've shared to the collaborative spirit you've nurtured to the kind and thoughtful comments you've written (not just on my tracks... seriously I think I've seen you commenting on just about every track I've listened to from every artist this year) to just being a generally awesome dude, you have definitely made this a better place and it's much appreciated.  Hope 2025 brings you many blessings and hopefully we'll see you back here in 2026.  Take care and all the best!

What an awesome track and collaboration! Such a triumph for all of you to come together and serve this song so well, everybody crushed it. A powerful note to end on. I was quite affected by you "closing up shop" at the end, though I hope (and suspect) you'll keep treating us with new music in the WB "off-season."

What a pleasure to get to know you and your music this WB! Getting to collaborate earlier was a huge highlight in my music-making year. Thank you for all your inspiration and support smile

Beautiful! Love the collab and video! Cool sounds on this and all your tracks. you've done amazing work this year. it's inspiring to witness, esp the way you are consistent with your style, with your sound and tone of voice. Looking forward to what you put out and hoping for a good safe and fulfilling year for you and your loved ones! May we live in the world you are painting in your music!

this is just incredible, a fitting final submission, loved listening to this and all your music this year, have a great 2025!

I had a really great time with you this whole year. Thank you so much. I always felt like driving with J Mascis in a pickuptruck through the landscape of Indiana, listening to an independent mixtape in the car, when I was closing my eyes. You made all my musical history come back alive. This track is as gentle and touching as seam. Wonderful goodbyesong. My best wishes for the year 2025.

This has been such a great ride, glad you hopped in the wb2024 train. It has been great listening throughout the year and hope you have a great 2025 and will be back to rise the 2026 dragon one more time. Lovely collaboration to close out the year!

It's a touching song, fitting for the finale. I'm really glad I came across you and your work!

I listened to this one on SQF’s podcast (Chasing the Beats, it’s on Spotify!) - what an amazing, huge song to finish the year with. Feelings of the Byrds and Semisonic, that sort of wistful pop feel - but with some more muscle behind it! An amazing collab all the way around.

And seriously - holy carps! What an amazing year. You kicked off your first year on WB with a bang. 2024 was a journey. So happy to have connected with you this year - here’s to more music in 2025, and having the Beat go on in ‘26!

Yeah another incredible work, you have such a talent for both song writing, but also for pulling together just the most amazing colabs.  It has been a honor to have connected with you this year, and I'm (easily) most proud of the pieces we worked on together.  I can't even express how awesome it was to hear where you took the whole "After Life" series, it was legit magical.  I mentioned it else where, but you should expect to hear from me once school calms down.  There is always more music to be made ヽ (°◇° )ノ

I found this song on the SQF podcast!  smile

This is amazing!  You had a legendary year man!

L E G E N D A R Y

i was having a tough time replying on this final 2024 song. i think i wasn't quite ready for that closure. working on Weekly Beats, this community, all of your music and kindness.... that all helped keep me afloat last year.

i've been thinking a lot about how making music is a lot like planting and tending to a garden. we plant these seeds with hopes of what will grow, but we can't really predict what will take / flourish / or linger and become part of the soil. i think we have all planted some magic seeds here, and i'm excited to see the ripples (forgive the mixed metaphor).

you may have seen on the Weekly Beats Discord (i joined recently and haven't been on it a ton, but it seems like a nice space to hang out...  here's a link if you feel like checking it out), but the wonderful SQF has started a WB podcast called Chasing the Beats. i had the honor of guesting on Episode 1, and if you'd like to check it out you can find it here on youtube or here on your chosen pod blower.
*rumor has is that that_ranjit is the featured artist for Episode 2, which drops at regular Weekly Beats Sunday evening time  big_smile

ok, on to individual replies...

i should have linked it above, but that line was inspired by this very moving video from the Standing Together IG channel (they are a grassroots Jewish-Arab movement fighting for peace, equality and social justice).
wishing you all the best this year.

what a wild ride, eh?
i appreciate you mentioning all of that. and thanks for calling out the videos as well. that was definitely inspired by Orange Drink. i know my video work is very basic, but i thought this would be a good chance to work on improving some of my visual art skills by trying to at least get something edited and posted each week. i still have much to learn, but i did at least get more comfortable with the programs i'm using.
thanks again for listening (and watching) this year, and take care!
