Knocked Down Raven

By Jokinen on April 12, 2020 11:10 pm

This is an ode to my buds who I played music with for forever now. It's a mix of their band and my bands songs in a melody that happened to be in the same key plus a little bonus halfie for your ears only. Thanks to url=https://weeklybeats.com/mikememo , url=https://weeklybeats.com/demonzor and url=https://weeklybeats.com/coreytrev0r for writing half of my song 15+ years ago.

I don't know how to hyperlink MikeMemo, Demonzor or CoreyTrev0r

Love the gated reverb on the snare. This sound very powerful, wide and I really like the electric guitars. Excellent.

Love the guitars bro beautiful and those drums tho!

Awesome idea for a song man, must be super nostalgic for you dudes.  Everything came out really nice too, great production and great guitar playing as usual.  That build up transition about 2/3 of the way through is sweet too.

Very cool broody post rock vibes. Really digging some of the chord progressions, the little break at 1:25 stood out to me in particular, I really like how 1:32 kind of has a 3/4 + 5/4 feel because of how the beat shifts to the chord progression.

hell yeah dude nice work!  cool concept for sure. wild ending.  awesome guitar work and great drums as usual.

Thanks! I've been trying to get rid of the pingy snare sound and was real happy with how this turned out.

This was nostalgic for sure, especially when trying to figure out the solo. I wanted to use the vocal line of the song as the main driver but put my own twist on it.

Haha you can thank mikememo, coreytrev0r and demonzor for the cool riffs. I'm just the messenger. That odd timing riff was done accidentally a few weeks back when I was jamming and thought it turned out well. Glad you enjoyed it!

Baaaaam baby. Glad you liked it. Tried to keep semi-close to JP drumming but I'm not that good. Glad you liked it!

Freaking awesome idea. I was talking with Kaffel about reviving some All Too Common songs for WB2020 too. Well done Jim!

Great work!  Love the sound you put together for a nice little montage of music.  That diddly at 2:40 is infectious catchy.

Thanks dawgy. I loosely followed "run away from it all, watch the leaves change, etc." from DTT. Figured it would suit the supporting music haha. Glad you liked it!

True that. It was a fun one to make. It was rough remembering a few parts haha, been a long time.

So much great stuff in this, I love the movement and energy. I really need to make something like this at some point. Appreciate the camaraderie lol, I wish I had buds to play music with. Really cool tune heart

Here's a handy guide to embedding stuff.

Great mashup, I don't know the original songs, but this song's amazing.

Nice one, so many great riffs.

wow dude, this is so great. some 15 year old riffage!!
