OMG, JEGASUS RELEASED ANOTHER RAP??? GOD REALLY DOES EXIST!!!

🤣😂🤣😂

Welcome back, folks!!! Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope your past week hasn't been to stressful.

It had been way too long since I last made a dumb ass rap so I decided to give it a shot again this time and see if I could still whip something up in a week. And I'm glad to report that the answer is yes, I actually can!!!

Before you even ask, the answer is obviously yes, Eminem is very clearly a huge influence in how I wrote these raps. The main boots-n-cats beat here is reeeeally reminiscent of Eminem's "Without Me", not to mention my general rhyming scheme and flow are VERY reminiscent of his as well. And don't worry, I'm not delusional - I do not think that I "rap just like Eminem." I really wish that were the case, but I have ears, hahahaha... I'm just saying that I'm heavily influenced by his style. Some might say I'm a bit too close to his, almost copying it. I know that's kind of subjective, but I really do hope that I haven't actually crossed that line.

Anyways, back to production notes. The beat is super basic and undercooked because I spent most of my music time crafting the lyrics. I feel like I flubbed the vocal delivery in a couple of little places, but I feel A LOT more confident and comfortable in this one than when I first started in January. There are also a couple of places where the volume of the vocal recording drops dramatically for no reason, which makes it hard to understand what I'm saying. This is probably due to the crappy quality of the mic I used: the tiny little plastic mic on the conference call headset from my work is NOT well suited for music making. Someday I'll get a proper microphone. But that day is definitely not today, hahahahaha....

The reference I make about the Flight of the Conchords is from one of my favorite songs of theirs, "Hiphopopotamus VS Rhymenocerous", specifically the verse at around 3:15. It's worth mentioning that when I wrote the original line, I didn't even remember the one from the FotC. But then, when recording, I remembered and couldn't **NOT** mention it =P If you haven't heard their music yet, stop my song right now and go listen to "Hurt Feelings", it is a work of pure art!!!

Jesus Christ, it had been a while since I had listened to "Hurt Feelings" so I just put in on in the background and noticed: IT'S ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE THIS SONG I WROTE! HAHAHAHA.... Comedy raps with a boots-n-cats beat with a piano and arpeggiating synth sounds sprinkled around!!!! HOW DID I ONLY NOTICE THIS RIGHT NOW??? This is hilarious....

Also, that other creator I mentioned, Good Boy Noah and Cheetah, holy CRAP, he is absolutely hilarious and incredibly talented. His baked salmon recipe video is not only funny AF, but it also happens to be delicious! We've made it here at home a couple of times and it's always a smashing success. I seriously urge you to check out Noah's music and recipes, they are a delight.

Oh, and I wasn't kidding about the recipe about the tiny taters! They are FUCKING GLORIOUS. Here's the recipe, copied over from the WhatsApp messages that my wife sent me explaining how to make them:

I hope y'all had a great week! I'm eager to listen to what you've made!!!

Dude! This is soooo well done! Those lyrics... there are so many! It would have taken me so long to do that. And they are great and I love the style you're using. Just really nice work and I love it. big_smile

OMG this was great. So many gems of rhymes. Particularly enjoyed where you would come and berate yourself in-between verses for being a bit...juvenile LOL. The instrumental underneath was quality as well, had a great flow to it. Huge grin on my face the entire song, this was fantastic. The Jeg is back!

Why does weekly eat every other comment I make?!

GODDAMN LOOKIT DAT HE SO CRAFTY

Sold, finished, dead, on board, mic dropped and smashed cuz I was laughing too hard.

This was awesome.

An anti-hype man, would a brilliant idea.  This was great fun.  The creator of Rick and Morty used to rap on an old podcast of his and this track reminded me of that in all the best way.  Great work

*what a brilliant idea.  stoopid fat fingers

Def hear that eminem rhythm flow especially on the second to last verse.  Excellent and funny use of the anti-hype meng.  smile  nice work!

As others have mentioned the anti-hype man was a really nice touch.  The whole thing brought a smile to my face, but my favorite verse about my style being vile... just dug all the internal rhymes with style in there.

Love the piano and chippy bits, love the vocals, love the anti-hype man cut ins. This is amazing.

Oh dear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anti-hype man. Good luck with him

Hip hop holy rap jegasus christ died for our sins

I enjoyed the rhymes and self-deprecation. Brings me back to when I saw eminem's music video for "stan" as a kid and thought it was genius, with switching characters. But this is funnier, don't need to rhyme like Eminem I think you have your own style

Glorious, 'nuff said.

I ended up hearing the piano part staring at the right side display of the M8 screen, that should definitely be louder btw wink

oh dang, those tiny taters sound GOOD

Jeg in Effect!!

ahahah! This sounds so cool!
Anti-hype man trying to bring some common sense is hilarious!
Keep it up and see you next week!

yeeeeaaah!! WB RAPPPSSS. fuckin killller!

Snacks! Making me hungry haha. Love Flight of the Conchords and this is a great vibe for sure. I really like the warbly/echoed chords in the background.

haha this was fun.

so much work to do this in a week i can't even imagine, nicely done! love how creative this is haha

This was fun, vocals scare me. I dread the sound of my own voice, big props and tasty taters!
