Growing up I listened to whatever was on the radio or what Indian music my Dad was listening to.  In 1986 I discovered Hip Hop and that changed everything for me, loved it, obsessed over it, it was all I listened to until I started University.  I then opened my mind and realized there is so much other brilliant music out there to listen to and enjoy.  I only discovered Aphex Twin in the mid to late 90's, I was blown away by Selected Ambient Works Vol I.  I then listend to Selected Ambient Works Vol II and was surprised with how different it was, I had never heard this "ambient" music before and the sounds were so unique and foreign yet so pleasing.  That album has always remained very important to me, so it was with great delight that on October 1 I was able to grab a copy of the vinyl repress of SAW II.  I don't think I have been so excited about buying an album since "Wu-tang Forever."  As a bonus the record shop even threw in a SAW II poster!  Have been listening to that album all week, they did a great job of pressing the vinyl, this weeks track is loosely inspired by the album.  Thanks for listening, and everyone give SAW II a listen this week.

beautiful beat! feels like a tunnel or the inside of a cell (considering the title, isn't that part of a cell? or that has more "zo"s in it?) (turns out it's a root oh well)

The track this week has a lot of magic and a nice dreamy vibe. The piccicatos are super Apex Twinish. Very beautiful. I will give the SAW 2 a listen.

Loving the RDJ influence in this.  The pizzi bass with the soft air-pushing pads gave me immediate comforting vibes.  SAW II is one of my favs too along with Track 19, Stone In Focus.  smile  The high strings are a nice touch that give this your own sound especially with those really cool flowering/evolving synths.  Excellent work and mellow vibes throughout this track.  That must be a sweet poster smile

Wow, great track. Tasty ambiences you have selected throughout. Nice mix and arrangement, things evolve and keep the story moving. SAWII so good, gotta go listen now.

damn this is great, Jason

Good track, definitely goes for more traditional drums than RDJ, not that there's anything wrong with that!

I got my SAW2 re-edition CDs this week also, which also came with 24-bit WAV files. Very happy to have those high quality renders!

I was tempted to get the stupid wooden box, but successfully resisted. But it was hard, it was a very desirable thing to me. I gotta admit I thought of a physical manifestation of the cover art ever since I first saw it. And that etched and eroded copper plate is exactly that. Must be a beautiful object to own!

I went for a "Stone in Focus" tribute back in April when it got an official re-release. I was waiting for the album ever since and the time already passed! Crazy how fast it goes.
