That Itch

By Janky Jams on January 10, 2026 5:32 pm

Week 2! As before, this is a recording of a single live performance on my modular synth. Video of the performance linked below!

In this one I tried structuring my enabling/disabling of layers a bit better, so that for the most part my hands wouldn't have to move all over my rack to operate things: I automated the enable/disable of the chord pad, and configured mute groups on Metron for various permutations of the other tracks. Transitions were still performed mainly on F8R, with a white noise into a highpass filter into a reverb wash on one fader, Desmodus Versio blend on another, and Oxi Meta in delay mode on a third transition fader.

Other patch notes:
- Bass voice: Schlappi Three Body hard-syncing Virt Iter Legio, with a sub-sine from Three-Body mixed in, through Éon Procyon.
- Chord pads: Knobula Monumatic, as is
- Arpy Chords: Serge Medusa through Make Noise QPAS
- Lead: Incus Iteritas Alia through Befaco Pony VCF
- Kick: Ohmforce Bohm
- Other Drums: WMD Clutch, Crucible, Kraken
- Send FX: Strymon Starlab reverb, Qu-Bit Nautilus delay
- Mixed with the WMD Performance Mixer MK II, and recorded as a single stereo output direct from the modular.
- Some compression applied in Ableton after the fact.

That arp you bring in towards the end is really nice. Great transitions as well. I would love to see a little more variation from ya, but since it's a live performance it totally makes sense the way it is. Great job!

I'd listen to a 2-hour version of this while pretending to dance.

fantastic job! loved the progression. when the key movement came it it was great. those arps were lovely and i loved how flowy and smooth all the evolution was!

THAT KICK. Amazing performance, atmospheric and hits HARD. I want to hear this in a club on a stack of speakers ten feet tall.

Damn, okay. I love this ❤️

Very nice and love you did it on the modular

I cant be bohmed to say something about that awesome kick XD
Love the changes you made, really ties the whole thing together!

Came across this again while listening to a randomly generated WB list and it continues to make me want to dance, hahaha....

What a jam!

Ohhh this the right spot! I love the clangy metalic bleeps.

Great jam as always! Looking forward to what you're cooking up for next week

Very nice and slow progression!

Soundcloud just slid that track into my NextUp while at work - I wondered what/who that was and hey, I know that guy from Weekly Beats smile Of course I had to leave a comment to let you know. Bass and Kick go well together, sparkles here and there but nothing too attentiongrabbing - just keeping me in the zone.  Great Track.

Hah! That's awesome. I always wonder how much of the SoundCloud plays are actually just made up by them, it's good to hear there was at least one real one big_smile
