Emergence

By Janky Jams on May 31, 2026 4:02 pm

Saturday was the annual international Drone Day, and that means we did our annual all-day drone stream train at Earth Modular Society again. I played a half-hour live set on stream as one of a couple dozen performers. This track is a condensed re-recording. Tried to keep it short, but still had to drop the mp3 encoding quality a bit to make it fit inside the file size limit...

Anyway, hope you like growly rumbling. True to the name, we start dark and sinister, but a brighter melody will emerge...

Patch notes, in order of mixer channels:

1: Collide 4 and Vhikk X feedbacking into each other. Crossfade (Axys) and lowpass (Dual Dagger) before mixer
2: Serge GTO into Serge VCFS
3: Serge GTS, hard synced to GTO, into Oxi Meta in Filter mode
4: Serge Stereo VCFQ pinged in low pass mode as the "Kick"
5: Three Body playing with independently tuned oscillators playing a chord sequence created by the Spacewalk VST. Filtered by QPAS.
6: Monumatic playing the same chord sequence
7: Starlab return channel
8: Mimeophon return channel

Could listen to this for hours! Amazing ambient track smile

Very well done. I loved the progression and atmosphere in this one.

From eery to beautiful. I really, really love this. Favourited.

There's some cool things in this that could really benefit a shorter runtime.
