Where to From Here...?

The intro guitar motif is from a 2013 phone recording I had floating around in the idea vault. It wasn't particularly original sounding, but I heard a little potential in some sort of video game soundtrack theme when I came across it this week, so I just built off that.
Unfortunately, I don't know how soundtrack producers manage to achieve that wondrous open space where every element sounds like it has it's own place in a giant arena, but I tried some reverb things out to at least have the parts not fighting each other (kinda).
It started to get a bit more complicated than I intended (it was supposed to be a simple little 'walking through the local village' J-RPG theme), and I had to ease up on trying to give the outro build up more character with changing note patterns for each repetition and such, so I don't feel like the intensity builds quite as consistently as I was hearing in my head, but it gives a decent idea of what I was going for. The general idea was to kinda capture three levels of game adventuring; the chill exploring, the eerie quiet and the intense battles.
I can definitely say, I did not expect that little phone recording to end up like this, but that's the beauty of revisiting old ideas. Apologies if the levels are weird to listen to, I had issues maintaining the drum energy while managing consistent instrument levels, so the beginning may seems too quiet overall. Having said that, this last-minute version is tweaked from last nights original submission. It still needs work with levels and such, but it is less inconsistent than the original.
