Protect that Fear

after four weeks of just electronic music i finally did something with "real" instruments. for years i forgot that i gave a friend of mine an acoustic bass that i got for helping a friend move. recently when i meet up with her again she gave me the bass back. now with fresh flatwounds it still plays great.

my idea with the song was to have just 4 tracks and to make it feel like an old diy home recording. in the end it was 5 tracks but it close enough big_smile

the lyrics were improvised and the lines were taken from a weird self-help / esoteric medical book i found in the hallway of the house i live in.

any feedback is welcome. i feel like these kinda tracks i can pump out like its nothing. it is for me like a formular that i just have to repeat even if i dont quite feel like the music works for me.

Good thing you got your acoustic bass back and that it inspired you to write this song.
I love the lightness it gives and the way your vocals are embedded in the instrumental.

See, I never would've looked at that book once if it had been in my hallway. You put music to it. Love that way of looking at the world!
As far as feedback goes - I wish the vocals were more upfront, for intelligibility alone, but if the were improvised I get why you'd make the choice to blend them into the background more. The bass goes really well with the guitar. Are you also providing the background vocals?

just what i am thinking. sounds really effortless, in the best way possible! ready for more smile

damn man, this sounds awesome!!! especially love the guitar here.

Fav’ed

I really dig this! the guitar sound is great, very folky and fitting the vibe.

Those "hi-mids/saturated" mixed vocals works pretty good, but my favourite elements of the track are the guitar-bass and back vocals!

Very cool.
