Had a dream I was hauling loose wet beans in a shipping container around the Pittsburgh area. No one would buy my beans.

I'm not sure what "digifulike" means, but it sounds good!

lol! I don't remember being a sad bean, I think I was more excited to go to a yummy tex mex place that was nearby, unfortunately I woke up before I got there.
Thanks!

Damn I wish I had vivid dreams like this.  If this was blasting on the shipping truck I would have purchased a bean or three.  Also my cat's name is Beanie so yay Beans lol.   Your bass lines are always so intricate on these funky numbers.  The main melody is super catchy too.  Your tracks always provide a much needed lift!  Oooooh that cascading synth in the second half. **chef's kiss**

Thanks! But I'm sure you could dream a little higher! lol

Delicious popping bass and popcorn-like synth melodies.  The space marimba jam has some swanky swing. Them beans are magic!

serious comment: The bass mixing on this is so good.  There's like a subwoofer layer, but then the "slap" of the strings treble layer and I can hear them both nicely.  Do you have any bass mixing secrets to share?  I also know you do the illegal "stereo bass" maneuver from time to time.

Ok, so I don't normally do this, but in this case, there are two bass synths, one is a simple bass guitar that I made forever ago, the other is modeled off of a bass sample from the Korg M1. I got a hold of the ROM and opened it as a PCM raw data in Audacity, guessing it's encoding. Luckily there wasn't any type of file compression, so it opened just fine. My version sounded ok, but needed a bit more oomph, so I layered it, which is typical of the M1 instruments anyway. There wasn't any special mixing done with them, the slap bass was just a bit anemic, so it didn't clash much, otherwise I would have just put a high-pass filter on the slap bass. Last year I was overdoing the stereo unison, so this year I've been trying to dial that back in general.
Lol, glad you liked my bean dream! I did in fact live in Pittsburgh for a bit, but it's still a funny place. And there was a real restaurant there that I think I was thinking of, called Mad Mex. And yes, that was about the same face I made trying to sell my beans, just without the can. They were loose beans. In a pile. In the middle of a shipping container. In the back street loading docks of Pittsburgh at night. lol

I also just realized Bean is the name of that bunny Muppet from The Tale of the Bunny Picnic!
