So, a long time ago, seemingly in another life (in 10th grade of high school), a particular someone installed Jeskola Buzz on a computer in our Media Tech classroom. That was kind of a pivotal moment for me, and Buzz became both my primary instrument and a gateway drug into DAWs, bedroom studios, samplers, synths, sounds, noises, bleeps, bloops, thwacks and everything else. And there are three really important highlights to me sharing this:

1. The person who installed Buzz in 10th grade Media Tech was noggin, who also penned the hardest fucking acid track called Corrosion (machines renamed to "I am the man / this is the quiet version");
2. The other best fucking song he put on that computer (that I liked so much that I got made fun of for listening to it over and over again -- studying it) was by jimmac;
3. Both noggin and jimmac are doing WB which is fucking rad.

(I remixed jimmac's badassery the week-after-I-caught-COVID. I'm irked that these two are not next to each other.)

Anyway, to weekly beats w/ dope folks that I have known for a quarter of a century!

Back in 2015, noggin and I made a mix called Buying Records, Buying Stocks. We were both dealing w/ some life things back then, and in spite of separate geographies kind, vibed at the same frequency at 150 bpm and feeling the amen. Anyway, I'm not promoting the mix, I'm establishing precedence. The last track of the mix (53:46) is a collab that is mostly Noggin's magic, but I do take credit for spicing the outro w/ Autechre's Second Bad Vilbel pads. Here, since we have a no-samples policy the quote is subtler (at least nobody commented on it yet except for noggin himself via DM) -- and is reproduced from scratch on the M8. :]

smooth af. that detuned bass is juicy. oh damn this gets FAT and FUNKY, I love that synth just taking over the place. awesome progression to a very thick and skittery place.
