Simple Piano Song

By horatiuromantic on August 21, 2022 5:58 pm

A simple improvised piano song, captured in between sessions on Aug 15. We were setting up a guitar looper and getting ready to test it for the first time with Tommaso, which is what you are hearing in the background. I didn't have the energy this week to do a more elaborate song, so this one will have to do.

I like how alive this sounds with the occasional extra sound popping in to the recording. I feel like it adds to the wandering exploratory feel of what you play.

I really enjoyed the "slice of life" vibe with the moments of maximal dissonance along with stunning beauty. some real talent at work here.

nice field recording. Everything is real and honest. love it.

Yep, agreed with hent03. The sounds of drumsticks (?) and other sounds give it an even more live/raw feel. Nice playing, stream of consciousness playing.

yea! it's a funny feeling (and a bit frustrating during the event) to get really invested in a piece while the people around are going about their day.

ahhh thx for such nice words! I try to put some beautiful harmonies in between some atonal stuff to create a nice contrast. but still sometimes it just feels a bit too random.

we have some pieces from there that get very chaotic with the drumsticks. but yea ultimately it's about really getting into the vibe of whatever you're doing, then the performance will feel great even if the music doesn't actually translate in a recording.

Simple? Maybe in number of keys hit at once, but it's all over the place
kinda dig it tho
