Georgian Cheese Night Boat

First full song. That was such a scramble to prioritize and get it "done". Looking forward to doing it better next week. And this was the last thing I will do in MPC Beats!

A summary of my more detailed notes in my weeklybeats lab journal:

Goal was to build out around a suspended to iii vi vi iii chord progression I love, although it didn't come out as haunting as I would have liked, needed more glimmering arpeggio sounds and better pad sounds in the background I think but didn’t have time to go back for it.

Recognized the need for more expressiveness and variety in the sound but had to limit the scope due to time constraints.

Almost goofed up with releasing a quiet track, but I remembered to finish with a quick application of a limiter for mastering before releasing the track.

Very nice especially given the tools you were working with. Dig the bass line and the little snare fills. Solid arrangement and chords. The cheese is stanky.

Cool progression! One piece of constructive feedback: The kick/snare sound really good together, but the snare is used very sparingly, and I think the snare makes the claps sound a bit anemic in comparison. Welcome to WB, and keep it up!

Glad you got it pushed over the line so we can listen. I dig the chords and the arps. I aspire to be as intentional with my progressions, I mash keys until something sounds good which is sometimes frustrating. Thanks for sharing!

congrats on the great track!

Thanks all, looking forward to working on future tracks. Really enjoying the weeklybeats concept and community more than I thought I would.

The synth lead's slideyness and quavery vibrato made me happy

So glad you noticed it! I wanted to do more with that style, I really love subtle vibrato on the in between notes, heavily inspired by the way Adele sings melodies.

There's a lot of arrangement variety here compared to some of your other tracks. I like it, it packs a lot in 2:30!

This is very comfy, and tasty
